3. describe their family. who raised them, and who had the most impact on them? did they have any siblings? who were they closest to? what were the family dynamics like?
ugh so i don’t think it’s any secret by now that ell was almost single-handedly raised by her mother (with the assistance of her maternal grandparents, of course). her father, ambrose, is the kind of man who could never stay out of trouble for very long, with a penchant for violence--never against his wife and daughter, but just the kind of guy who liked to get into fights so he could feel something, which elliot didn’t/doesn’t know but somehow these kinds of feelings are very present in her life as well.
her paternal grandparents, the honeysetts, were involved with her upbringing up to a certain age, until scarlet effectively told them that they weren’t going to be involved anymore. definitely, elliot was closest to her mother, by process of elimination alone--though once they were settled in hope county, she and joey became fast friends (also: ell’s first girl crush), and they were thick as thieves ever since.
4. what was the most common argument between them and whoever raised them?
god, more like what DIDN’T they argue about day in and day out lmaoooooo. scarlet is a headstrong woman who raised a headstrong woman, unfortunately for her, and though to this day ell’s personality does become a bit of a shrinking violet around her mother, it’s very apparent that they’re accustomed to arguing with each other. elliot has a hard time reconciling that her mother has never changed her last name to her maiden name (graves), that she seems to like always be waiting for ambrose to come back, and scarlet has always been the kind of mother who thinks that elliot should just listen to her because she birthed her.
i would say if i really really had to pick, it would either be arguing about a.) the dirt elliot was tracking through the house or b.) the stray animal she was bringing in, at least when she was younger. as she got older the arguments devolved into meatier, interpersonal kinds of arguments--just that they are fundamentally different people and that makes them clash.
9. when they got hurt as a child, who did they go to? how did they react?
is it dramatic to say no one? lol. as a toddler/child elliot was prone to cuts and bruises, falling out of trees and breaking bones, coming home with knee scrapes and split lips. she was a wild, rough-n-tumble kind of girl from the start, and scarlet is particularly unsympathetic for bumps and scrapes. she’s always been pretty independent, so when she does get hurt--then and now--she’s quick to internalize it and shoulder the burden herself.

13. what’s the worst (in their mind) way their current situation could end up?
LMAOOOOOO i think the only way things could get worse for her currently in WH is if burke shows up : ‘ ) that or more people from hope county/the resistance finding out about her and john and baby. dsjhbdjsbhd
