Vector to the Heavens
She didn't have a lot of time to herself anymore, but when she did, she took the time to search every cupboard. She only did one at a time before getting distracted by something else. A friend, or colouring, or the weather outside.
But today, up in one of the bed rooms she found something peculiar under the bed. A wrapped box. Her small hands pulled it out as those bright blue eyes scanned it over. It was to be a present for someone, Sayaka as the label said, and it was wrapped up so neatly tat for all the time it had been under there, there wasn't even one tear. A lot of dust, but the pretty green wrapping still shone.
At this point, this Sayaka was probably dead, and now she was beyond curious. Well, someone could like this present, why let it go to waste?
"I hope you're ok with that..." she mumbled before gently taking the tape off, wanting to save the wrapping in case she found something her friends would like. She took her time, as she revealed a small wooden box. Inside, was a sharpened knife. Its handle fit perfectly between his small fingers.
"Wow..." she whispered. The blade was shiny, brand new, sharp. And carved into it's handle in fancy writing was, "Vector to the Heavens."
Well she knew none of her friends would like it that much. But she adored it. She could see her reflection, those big blue hues shining brightly back at her. It was light, it would work for throwing and cutting. This might just be her favourite blade.
She looked back at the writing, "Vector to the Heavens... I wonder what it meant." she smiled, "Maybe it was to tell her she was an angel... that would be cute... I guess she was a chef of some sort." shame this had to happen, and the present never delivered.
"Sayaka, I'm going to take this I'm going to use it to protect my friends! If I see you! I'll give it to you! I promise!" she placed the knife in her pocket and hid the box and wrapping under the bed for future use.
As she left the room she swore she heard someone say, "Good, thank you."

Keyblades and Gunblades (Lightning and Roxas)
Lightning looked down from the rooftop of the building, taking in what she saw. Etro sent her here to purify the land of evil, but Lightning never guessed it would be that bad. She had been here a week already and she had spent that time cutting down zombie after zombie with no end. Etro had assured her champion that she would not be alone in this task. The goddess told Lightning that there would be others around, but she had yet to find anyone that hadn’t been infected with the virus.
Lightning was about to return to her safe house when she spotted something to her right. She took a step to the edge to get a better look. It looked like a boy, and he was fighting off a few zombies. He seemed to be holding his own, but the zombies were great in number. And there was no way Lightning was going to let him continue fighting on his own. She dove down from the rooftop and ran to help the boy.
As she got closer, she was able to see him better. His hair was a mess of blond spikes. He didn’t wear armour like she did, but regular street clothes donned with checkerboard patters. He had a few pieces of jewlery: a checkerboard bracelet, a black ring and a silver X that danced on his chest as he moved. But what made Lightning blink and quirk her head was what he was fighting the zombies with. He swinging around what appeared to be two giant keys. One was white, and the other was black. Lightning watched as the boy impaled the nearest zombie with his weapons.
“Giant keys?” Lightning thought as she got closer, her soldier mindset surfacing “How the hell is he holding his own with giant keys? He’s using them like they should be swords! Better yet, where did he learn to fight? He doesn’t look like he’s from Cocoon. What other kind of military would allow someone so young?”
She didn’t have time to seek the answer to her questions right now. She saw him take another one down in front of him, but didn’t see the two coming behind him. She transformed her gunblade into sword mode and charged.
“Watch out!” Lightning screamed, jumping over the boy and landing in between him and the zombies. A few slashes in all the right places and the zombies dropped lifelessly to the ground.
“That was close.” Lightning said, turning to the boy. This was the first time she was able to take a good look at his face. She could tell from a distance that he was young, but up close Lightning guessed he was in his mid teens. But the most stunning feature about the boy was his eyes. They had a blue that resembled the ocean, not unlike Lightning’s.
"Are you alright?” She asked, placing her gunblade at her side.
