Do you have any characters you hate in canon but love to write in your fics?
This is such an interesting question!!
The short answer is... Kinda? There aren't many characters that I genuinely hate on the show (*cough*Pip*cough*), or at least not any that I've decided to include in a fic.
But if you're along for the ride, I've got additional thoughts that sort of answer your question hehehehe
So when I first actually sat down to watch South Park from the beginning I was already primed to dislike Cartman. And who wouldn't? He's a spoiled, selfish, bigoted asshole. So when I set out to write him in TSOB I was... Not stoked, if I'm being honest. His dialogue always took me the longest and I kept his pov super limited because I found him so challenging to write.
Eventually though, something clicked. I'm not sure if it was a deeper understanding of his insecurities or if my own brain finally let go of the political correctness (and fear of backlash for not being particularly PC with him) that was holding my creativity a little bit hostage, but I started finding him far easier to write. Now he's my favorite to write for, and easily one of my favorites in the show!
Otherwise I think the only character I don't adore that I have written for is Clyde. I'm sorry guys, he's just such a sniveling little douche. I don't particularly enjoy writing for him, at least not more than any of the other side characters, though I actually did enjoy him in Not Suitable for Children so maybe I'll come around.
