Willow: It's Mix n' Match day!

Me: (looking at her outfit) ...but you match

Willow: (confused) But I've got a plain top and flower pants!

Me: That's a normal way to combine those items. Why don't you grab stripes and polka-dots. That's a go to Mix and Match outfit.

(Willow runs off screen and comes back changed)

Willow: What about this?

Me: Um, stripes and florals have had a fashion moment before... Why don't you pick different patterned pants.

(Willow clearly annoyed runs off again and comes back with a new outfit)

Willow: This one!

Me: (starts to laugh at the craziness of this conversation.) Well.... Checkerboard pants shouldn't work with stripes on paper but you look good in it.

(Willow deflates slightly)

Me: (pondering the predicament of her not being able to fully mismatch her clothing for spirit day) Just roll with it. I think your main problem is that you can pretty much where anything if you have the right attitude. And you always have that creative energy that makes an outfit work.

Willow: So it's good!?

Me: Yeah, it's works. Maybe throw on two different shoes before you leave...
