IM Kijoong! “Pretty please with a cherry on top?” Requested by @ding-dong-myeong
(Admin: Babyboiii I’m older than Kijoong so I feel inclined to make this a noona scenario)
“Ah, Noona please,” Kijoong whines grabbing your arm again you shoot him an annoyed glance letting out a huff.
“Fine,” you huff in annoyance, “how much do you need?” You ask taking your wallet out of your pocket.
“Around seven more dollars,” he concludes you quirk an eyebrow at him.
“Do you think a high-school senior has seven dollars to just give to their annoying underclassman friend,” you complain but take out the money anyway, “this girl better be worth it for you to be taking money from me of all people,” he nods eagerly taking the money from your hand.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, bye,” Kijoong calls waving slightly before turning and heading towards the flower shop the two of you passed a minute before his pleading.
A small pang of hurt goes through your chest you let out a sigh continuing on your way home. You put your earbuds in deciding to not dwell on it you should be happy for Kijoong but considering you’re around eighty percent sure you’ve developed feelings for him over the past three years. You think that’s when you started at least. You’re surprised by hands on your shoulders jumping and turning to the side to be greeted by your other friend Taeeun, who’s older than you but born the same year as you.
“Something bothering you?” Taeeun seems to see through you despite only knowing you for a year he’s scarily good at knowing when something’s up, “you worried about that girl Kijoong is confessing to?” You scoff looking away from him.
“He asked me for seven dollars because he didn’t have enough for the flowers for her,” you grumble under your breath Taeeun lets out a small laugh dropping his head his arm still around your shoulders while the two of you walk.
Taeeun and you make small talk the rest of the way to your house he tells you he’ll pay you for your history notes which you, of course, agree to. You take your backpack off of your back on your porch taking out your history notes and handing it to him.
“Give them back tomorrow,” you say with a sigh, “there’s Kijoong,” you mumble looking behind Taeeun, Taeeun leans forward hugging you, “what’re you doing?” You mumble with a laugh but return the hug none-the-less.
“You’re saving me from failing history and it’s only costing me fifteen dollars you’re a blessing,” Taeeun mumbles against your neck before pulling away, “I’ll see you in math,” he says patting your shoulders.
You look past him to see a slightly hurt looking Kijoong well, you think it’s hurt, it could be your imagination wanting to make something out of nothing.
“Did you confess to her?” You ask Kijoong in the lunch line nudging his arm.
“No,” he says softly looking down at his empty tray you furrow your brows turning to make eye contact with him.
“Will you tell me who it is though?” You ask bubbly still super happy from passing your math test without cheating off of Taeeun.
“No,” he says with a sigh, “it doesn’t matter now anyway,” he says sadly you let out a laugh bumping his shoulder again.
“Ah come on tell me please, please,” you say tugging the end of his sleeve lightly mimicking him from yesterday, “pretty please with a cherry on top,” you draw out your words earning a laugh and the first smile you had seen on the underclassman’s face today which was an accomplishment.
“You won’t be mad,” Kijoong asks suddenly turning serious, “but first what was going on with you and Taeeun yesterday?” He half-grumbles.
“Oh, he got my history notes speaking of which he has to pay me,” you say suddenly remembering that he didn’t pay you during math.
“So you’re not dating?” Kijoong confirms you laugh at the absurdity of the statement nodding your head, “okay,” Kijoong says in an exhale.
“So, who were you planning on confessing to,” you say trying to stir the conversation back on topic.
“I was going to confess to you, yesterday, but you were with Taeeun and I misunderstood and let it get to my head,” he rushes out his words before moving in front of you in the lunch line falling silent you hold your breath for a second in slight disbelief.
You tug his arm turning him halfway to look at you: “You don’t get to leave the conversation like that me?” You say in disbelief, “really, me, the girl that holds the fact I’m six days older than you over your head,” Kijoong nods.
“I know you don’t like me back so I was glad that I didn’t confess but looks like I still did anyway,” he says shrugging his shoulders you hit his arm.
“That means you made me pay for a confession you were giving to me you shithead,” you whine, “what did you do with the flowers,” you complain Kijoong gives an amused smile.
“You’re not denying my confession or accepting it,” he mumbles, “I should’ve expected you to act like this,” he says with a sigh reaching into his pants pocket, “I didn’t buy anything,” he says handing you the money back, “I was really going to take you for ice cream after I confessed,” he admits.
“That’s cute,” you say softly putting the money into your pocket, “I’ll take you for ice cream then since it was what you planned,” you say before turning him back around to face forward.
“Is that how you accept confession?” Kijoong asks turning back to face you but you turn him back forward shushing him.
“You’ll find out,” you laugh out holding his shoulders he lets out a dramatic sigh stepping forward towards the lunch line and finally scooping food onto his tray.
