I write short horror, send short horror out to publications, get rejected, send again, get rejected, make a cover, publish myself... no one wants em. Even if they're free. Even. If. They're. Free.

So.

Since I can't stop writing random short horror, I'm going to start releasing it for free on my site. Maybe record some for the podcast too. There won't be epubs to format or covers to design and create just words on the site that people can read if they want to. There's a donate button there. If anyone wants to throw money at me for it.

Otherwise I'm done with the short horrors.

I'll be focusing on getting the novels I have in progress finished and marketing those as they're done.

If I write any new shorts I'll throw a link to the site, where you'll have to subscribe (for free) to read them because of the bots.

I'm done submitting to places. Their guidelines have gotten worse and it's gone from industry standard $.01/word to $20 a story but we want at least 5k words if they pay at all. Most don't. They pay in exposure because they're new and I get that but I worked freelance art for years, my friend, and you cannot eat exposure.

So the plan is work on novels and look for a job that'll hire someone with no degree, no job history, an unpredictable mood disorder and a propensity to get so anxious and scared they're going to fire her for self-perceived inadequacy that she quits.

Also it'll have to work around my son's schedule as he'll be starting a job over the summer and I am his ride.

Should be fun.

I was planning on attending this on Saturday alone because there are others I'd love to see but now I absolutely HAVE to go on Sunday so now I have to try and see if I can swing both days. This is not something I can miss!!!!! Oh my god!!!
