Appreciation post for Im Geum
The first time I saw Geum was on the first episode. He has this responsible but filled with cold interior as if his life was black and white. When Sol time travelled before the incident, I was confused by Geum's change of personality. He was jolly, childish and free. He was a struggling actor but he is filled with hope and love. The more Geum was introduced to the viewers--the more I understand what kind of Im Geum's change of personality.
Like how Sunjae regretted that he was unable to wake Sol at the right time or was there when to save her, Geum was drowned in the regret of not being able to protect Sol. When their father died, Geum became the only man in their family and he had the responsibility to protect his family. When he failed to save Sol, he felt he failed as a brother and the representative for his father. He lost his opportunity to be with his fated love and at the same time, he no longer pursued the dream he loved. The original Geum was bitter and filled with regrets. It feels like he lived his life for an atonement to the incident that happened to his little sister.
Fortunately, Sol changed their fate. We now see the Geum we loved. The brother who loved his little sister in his own way. The brother who'd protect his little sister and his family. The Geum we see is the brother who is free from regrets. We love the Geum we see and Geum found his fated love. Like how Sunjae to Sol, Geum is fated to love Hyunjoo.
He may be annoying at times but he is a good brother. 💕💕💕💕
