IT’S HARD to explain -- even he scarcely knows the reason -- but animals are utterly repulsed by him, whether it be due to his decidedly inhuman origins or some other repelling feature he isn’t aware of. ❝ Birds don’t like me either. Or rats. Or lizards. Or spiders. I don’t know why, because I really like spiders, ❞ he says miserably. How he’d love to hold one, if only they didn’t keep scuttling away from him. They look like fuzzy little stars.
