i like bein funny bc im not very good at it bc i’ve been so..eurgh, depressed and generally unhappy for so long so when it hits its mark (which it’s been doing a lot more recently bc everyone around me is the same way n does not really want to be alive) it’s like, the lightest feeling in the world for me

but i’m so domineering and generally controlling i feel like i end up draining the fun out of others into myself. i always feel like i move too quickly or too slowly and have too much of my own pacing for anyone to properly keep up with without burning out and i want to stop being that way but it’s so exhausting on both ends arhg

It takes practice, I think. It took a lot of effort for me to finally be able to say “thank you” when someone said my designs were good in class, instead of saying “aw, no they aren’t.” I had to repeatedly tell myself that I didn’t suck.

lol well not just that though i can do that just fine... i used to decline peoples compliments back in like middle school i guess but it just became such a hassle esp when i joined dA...

then again... sometimes i accept peoples compliments and thank them only because i dont want them repeating the compliments i dont believe i deserve ... you know? like if i said i disagreed then theyd just keep trying to tell me otherwise and i really hate that OTL
