I can’t think of a better way to recover from #im703oceanside than volunteering with the @im_foundation @cafoundation adaptive surfing event with the Junior Seau foundation. Watching the participants faces light up while they caught waves will remain a highlight of this race season, for sure. Oceanside never disappoints! Racing in a field this classy makes me grateful to be able to start on the same line as these ladies. My personal race was basically all held during the swim. Long story short, I almost got pulled out hyperventilating, but was able to continue after a short float. Bike and run were fine, typical of my early season form. Pretty typical pre-race day. Forgot to swim in my new @blueseventy Helix before today, so jumped into the hotel pool for a few 10 yd laps. Gloria found a new Oceanside friend, and we got inspiration from a kids run across the street. I also realized my hydration system straw went missing, so I’m improvising with a restaurant straw that reaches about halfway down.
