Flickr bby what in the actual flying goddamn fuck are you DOING?!?!?

The tl;dr is that Flickr will now limit Free accounts with a limit of 1'000 photos or videos. After that you can't upload anything anymore.

Current users with more than 1k uploads have until January 8, 2019 to upgrade to Pro or download content over the limit.

And here's the kick in the sack. After February 5, free accounts beyond the limit will get their stuff deleted starting from oldest to newest until they meet the 1k limit.

Well, you know what that means. Dig around your bookmarks, and fire up those backup machines if necessary.

The upside of this announcement is that it appears that you won't need a Yahoo! mail in order to make an account on Flickr, so there’s that.

I'm pretty sure there's at least one community that will be deeply affected by this and will lose thousands of valuable pictures. As an example, think of a big gaming event that has to do with id software. Edit: Wait, nevermind that, they're actually Pro. CRISIS AVERTED.
