Unicorn, but the horn just keeps on going...
Slightly obsessed with the fish from the Codex seraphinianus, 10/10 would build a huge biotope tank for them with all the weird knick-knacks from the Codex if that would make them feel at home and they were real. Anyway, they look like interesting fellas, and we decided to draw them instead of staring at their page again! 👁️💙👁️

Trophy heads
Trophy Heads This is what I worked on today. I’m studying Designing Creatures & Characters by Marc Taro Holmes. In the book he suggests drawing creature heads to practice using your imagination. These are the twelve that I came up with. Which one is your favorite? If this post gets 10 likes I’ll post the timelapse on my YouTube channel. Anyway, thanks for stopping by.

Carved Lizards
The shed oddly wrinkled skin of the Berston's Carved Lizard were for centuries used in augury rites. Recent research, however, has shown that the natural glyphs formed by these wrinkles are a naturally evolved defense against precognitive predators.
They do so by enhancing predictive power initially to produce a strong response while dimming negative warnings. The result is a prophecy that works until the worst possible moment for it to fail, where a previously hidden twist strikes.
As such, their popularity as a method of traditional augury has declined sharply. Attempts to game this ability are rarely successful as the effect influences attempts to research a consistent workaround.
