It also temporarily allows them to walk in sunlight without burning. Sookie has a little bit of faerie in her. She found Ben on the side of the road, bit by a vampire and needing help (lies and manipulation). She helped him and realized he was fae like her. Also, she got word that thousands of years ago, one of her ancestors struck a deal with Warlow saying he could have the first born fae female of their family. That’s Sookie. He tricked her for four episodes but my bitch is smart and caught on via details that don’t matter rn. Basically she knows Ben is Warlow and he killed her parents 20 years ago while searching for her, and she knows that he’s here for her. She doesn’t fully understand why tho.

Btw, despite her literally threatening to burn him alive (dead? half vampire but immortal being idk), he’s saying all of this with such serious conviction, I’m like shit, he really does love her.
