I’m minding my black ass business
SITUATIONS BE SMALL BUT THE PRINCIPLE BE HEAVY
It’s just something about being a black woman that I’ve always loved
I love when my skin darkened during the summer time
I love the “try me if you want” hair colors
I love how BOLD we are
I love how we SPEAK our slang
I love the way we LIFT each other’s heads in the face of dark times
I love the SISTERHOOD
I love the bossy bout they business ENTREPRENEURS
I love how the sun kisses our skin and we STANDOUT
I love how when we come together in agreement MOUNTAINS MOVE
I love how we BRING LIFE, and TEACH IT
I love how we are MASTERS of many things
I love how we were NOT BUILT TO BREAK
We are a CULTURE of our own
QUEENS and GODDESSES
Stay UNFUCKWITHABLE

Finger Rolls
I remember in basketball when I fell in love with “the finger roll”. My coach would yell at me continuously to use both hands. It wasn’t that my coach was trying to steal my swag, style, and abilities away, he just knew that there was going to come games, days, quarters, and seasons when I wouldn’t be able to rely on it. He was the coach, and I’m sure he had seen the play time and time again, it wasn’t this mans first rodeo. He knew the in’s and outs, and the ups and downs of playing this game. That in one season I could use it, but however the next season I would have to fight through injury, and learn to protect myself using a different method.
Clear Lane
God does not want us to fall in love with finger rolls. You know the plays in your life where everything is smooth sailing, you see the scoreboard and you’re up on life, everything is so effortless. Where things are going so well that you talk yourself out of new habits that got you in that that place.
He knows the devil has his scouting reports on us, and some seasons we will battle injury, and our shots not falling in, that’s why he tells us to use both hands, because no matter the distraction at the basket, we ultimately have a greater chance of the shots falling, then us using one.
Change Like The Seasons
The difference in some of our seasons continuing or our seasons ending could all come down to wether or not we had enough disciple to use one hand on the ball or two. You doing it in your own strength or you accepting God’s hand as well. You see because ultimately you really have little to non control over where the ball ends up if bumped. In sports in general you learn to distract your opponents in a multitude of ways some being, yelling, light pushes or tugs, or smothering. So as we progress in life and in our own individual races there are some experiences you pick up on and identify the ending because of how the play started.
One hand is us doing things we see as necessary in our own strength.
Yes we can plan to do things for God without God.
It’s Just You
It may look good in person, hell good on the replay, sky rocket your confidence, but with two hands, yours and God’s, you’re unstoppable, and nothing nobody places at the basket has the power to steer your confidence, focus and drive, nor vision.
The razzle dazzle is not in you finger rolling the ball in, but us allowing God to be our shield/ guide hand and making the shot.
The razzle dazzle is not in you finger rolling the ball, but allowing God to be our shield/guide
So Spirit of God I ask that you guide me, order my steps, lay my foundations. Help me to take my thoughts and plans out of it, and show me your hand mighty. Because I know your words do not return void. Use my hands as your vessel God.
Amen.
Black Friday’s are just reminders that we get no days off from this black-ish
