"hi Danica! Hopefully it's you. Alot of people are in this place. I tried to find the most regal voice I could. I got your letter! Thank you for using Braille. It's so rare to get it. Good luck to you as well. I am aiming for round two. Hopefully I can get there."
*she waves in the wrong direction and stops*
"I don't know which direction to wave in.."
- Luna
[Danica puts her hand on Luna's shoulder]
"Yes, it is I, Danica~ and I'm right here! And oh, it's nothinggg, I'm glad I could give you something you don't receive often, aha!~ I saw that you didn't make it this round, that's such a shame! I wish you luck in your next battles though <3"
Luna: "I have a question. It'll sound..rather silly but could you describe how you three look? I can tell you are kids, or...at least, sound like it. Indi signed into my back that you are pretty young compared to us."
@sonic-mini-showdown
Lyra: Right! Mom says you can’t see!
Lyra: My name’s Lyra the Hedgehog, I’m 10 years old and mama says my quills are periwinkle, like from Blues Clues! I have a pink stripe, too. My eyes are the same colours as watermelon candy, so if you eat that, you’ll know what they look like!
Nova: I’m Nova the Hedgehog. Me and Lyra are twins, so I’m 10 too. I’m dark purple, with three dark red stripes. My eyes are dark red and green.
Lyra: Don’t forget your bangs!
Nova: Um, yeah, I have hair in front of my eyes, like mom.
Lustre: My turn!! Name’s Lustre, I’m the coolest! I’m 9, and I’m the tallest of all of us!
Lyra: PFFFFT. They’re lying!
Nova: It’s the shortest.
Lustre: They don’t gotta know that!! AHEM. I got black quills like mama, but they’re blue at the end like mom, aaaaand I got mom’s green eyes!
Indigo: He looked at Sonic and Shadow, 'How...do you deal with Chaos Sickness? I got supercharged. Along with my daughter, Lyra. I dealt with it before but...' he stopped and looked away as his ears folded back. 'Not in good ways'
Luna: *is currently resting on the floor*
@sonic-mini-showdown
[Lore Dump: awhile back, Lyra, like her dad went exploring the multiverse. She ended up getting kidnapped. Indi tracked her and got nabbed as well. The people the. Supercharged him and Lyra to where they both need 4 inhibitors. They didn't stop there. Indi and Lyra went back out (for reasons that haven't happened yet) and got someone to supercharge them again with more chaos energy. The downside is now Lyra and him get a little more sick and have to deal with chronic pain if they don't use enough of it.
On top of the chaos energy pain, Indi has a knee brace on his right leg because it didn't form properly so even while running, it still hurts.]
Shadow: For me, it’s a chronic illness. I have been dealing with Chaos Sickness for my whole life. It’s something that will never go away; a fault in my design that means my own body can’t withstand high Chaos Energy levels the way Sonic’s can naturally. My Limiter Rings are required to draw Chaos away from my core, preventing the energy from building up and consuming me from the inside. They ensure that the energy is distributed throughout my body because, while I can’t withstand concentrated energy, I also can’t function without it.
Shadow: Sometimes symptoms are mild enough to ignore entirely, and sometimes they’re so severe I can’t get out of bed. It’s a case of managing symptoms. There are things that help, like my Limiter Rings, and things that just make it more manageable by ensuring I’m as comfortable as possible and my needs are met, like warm baths, plenty of rest, and eating well. Sonic, of course, offers a lot of support.
Shadow: We’re learning as much as we can about it so that we can best support Nova. They’re likely going to need Limiters on their ankles, soon…
Shadow: We’ve been taking trips to Angel Island every few months. Knuckles and Big help us through a ritual that’s supposed to ask the Master Emerald to neutralise the energy. Nova says it helps, but I’m not sure. It doesn’t give me any relief. Perhaps I’m too cynical for it to have any effect on me.
Shadow: The other measure we’re taking is keeping Nova from overusing their powers. I wasn’t given that option; but our children will not be forced into the life of a hero. Lyra also seems to help somewhat. When they use their powers together, it’s far less strenuous on Nova.
Shadow: The hardest challenges I face are allowing myself to need support from others, and not blaming myself for Nova’s sickness. I’m getting better at resting, taking care of myself… so I suppose my advice would be to lean on others. If you have people who care for you, they will want to support you.
Luna: "who wants to race my brother! With your parents permission of course. Hello Mrs. Sonic. Mrs. Shadow. *Waves in the wrong direction*
Indigo: *signs into her arm* I am not racing a set of ten year olds. Besides, I don't even know if I won against Ruby yet!
Luna: "well can't play a card game." *She waves a hand in her face*
@sonic-mini-showdown
Lustre: Me!! I’ll race!!! ME ME ME
Lyra: Me too! Lemme stretch!
Nova: No thank you. I’ll just watch.
Sonic: Hey! Sure you can race ‘em. They don’t have super speed, but don’t go easy on ‘em; they’re in it for the thrill of the competition! ‘Cept Nova, they’re not in it at all.
A sudden rolled up pair of objects gets flung through a cracking portal that closes due to being unstable. A grown 21 yr old Indigo and a 10 yr old Lyra groan and whine about feeling sick as they sit up and check their inhibitors. No cracks but they still felt sick from it.
"Ow...now where did we end up? I hurt all over, daddy."
Indigo pushed himself up. His leg knee was screaming at the pain all the time but landing like that actually hurt so much more.
He signed, 'its okay. Portaling went wrong. We'll just..*'
He stopped signing when he saw the portal devices were broken. Now they were stuck but where?
[Crossover with @imhereandexist ! indigo and Lyra belong to @imhereandexist , Yuri Sonic, Shadow, and Nova, Lustre, and the other Lyra belong to me]
After hearing an odd commotion and checking first that all of her kids were accounted for, Sonic secured Zephyr in their carrier and went for a gentle jog to investigate.
Of course, she was followed by her kids.
She skidded to a halt when she came across the pair of newcomers. "Hey! You guys doing okay? Heard some weird noises out here so I thought I'd check it out!”
'I am so sorry. We will..' he stopped signing to cover his mouth. 'be gone soon.'
—
Indigo looked up. He didn't expect to be found by someone that quickly. He held his head and slowly pushed himself up to his feet. Stumbling at how his body protested but ignoring it.
Lyra meanwhile was curled up and whining about feeling sick. She wasn't moving any time soon. He picked her up with one arm. Did this universe have a Tails? Maybe? If so, hopefully he was nice. Hopefully he could help fix their devices at least. His ears pinned back as Lyra turned into his chest.
'do you...have a Tails? Um, he is a yellow fox, two tails and is really smart. We won't be a bother’
–
"Oh! You're mute? Wait—" She hesitated a moment before signing, "Can you hear?"
Lustre rolled onto the scene. "Hey! What do you want with Auntie Tails?"
Lyra grabbed Lustre's arm. "Wait! Don't we know that guy?"
Nova half hid behind Lyra. "They look sick..."
"Kids! What have I told you about leaving your mama on her own?”
–
Indigo took a moment to scan their faces. Then recalled where he had seen them. The showdown he had entered with Luna. He waved to them. Then addressed Sonic's question.
'i can hear. I just can't speak.'
He looked at Lustre and showed the broken travel device on his arm. Hopefully that was enough for an answer.
"Ah, okay! The kids know the basics of sign, but we're probably all a little out of practice. We'll try to keep up, heh.
–
Lustre peered at the device. "... Mmmyep that's a Tails job!"
Sonic nodded. "Sure is, and I'm sure our Tails can fix it right up for ya, but I think we've got more important things to take care of first." She crouched down. "Like your little one?”
–
Indigo looked at his daughter. She was in rough shape. It was a long shot but they seemed nice. He let Lyra lean against him.
'Chaos Sickness. For both of us. Hers is worse as I am used to the feeling.'
He laid back on the ground and she whined. The pain was keeping him down.
'my worse thing...is the pain. My knee hurts so much. Her name is Lyra, she's ten.’
–
"Chaos Sickness, huh? Wonder if it's anything like what my wife and kid go through?" Sonic stood back up, supporting Zephyr in the carrier on her front.
"Wait!! I'm Lyra, and I'm ten!"
"We could teleport them?" Nova offered.
"That's sweet of ya, kiddo." Sonic ruffled their quills. "But I think that might make 'em feel rougher. Besides, you gotta rest up."
"Okay..."
"I can zip back home and borrow my wife's wheelchair? Normally I'd just carry ya, but, well... Harder to do when I've got this li'l babe attached to me.”
–
He nodded. If that wheelchair meant he didn't have to move then good! He just stayed on the ground with Lyra hanging onto him. He felt bad but it seemed like they were in good paws.
–
"All right! Lustre, come help me out. Nova, Lyra; you stay here, okay?"
"'kay!" Lyra turned to Indigo after Sonic and Lustre left. "Indi, right?”
–
He looked over and smiled at her, holding a thumbs up. They remembered him after all. That would make things simpler. He heard his little one whine and rubbed her back. He could never comfort her quite right. Compared to her, he had more chaos energy and more time to adjust. Hopefully as an adult, she would be okay
–
"Can we help?" Nova signed, then switched to speaking aloud. "Um, sometimes when I'm sick, someone else's Chaos Energy helps... Lyra helps me a lot, so does Mama.”
–
He smiled, '*usually, I can help her with snuggles. She isn't feeling it right now.*' he kept rubbing his baby's back. '*so if you got any ideas on how to help her. Please do so. I'll be fine*’
–
Nova nodded and crouched down close to the other Lyra, arms outstretched but not touching her. they thought about singing, but their nerves got the better of them.
Lyra did the same, hoping proximity might help. "Does she get fevers? Mom's got medicines for that.”
–
'*not that I am aware of. She gets pain mostly and is very weak when it happens.*'
He never saw her get fevers but he guessed that was a blessing. He wished it was a fever instead of pain but it is what it is.
–
"Sugar helps Nova!"
Sonic returned with Lustre and a wheelchair. "Sorry! Dropped the baby off with my wife and had to explain what was going on.”
–
Indi pushed himself up and nodded. He understood that things had to be set in place. Especially with babies. He had a newborn back home. He was gonna try and get up on his own. Even if he stumbled his way up.
–
"Hey, Lustre, a hand?"
"On it!" Lustre, the sturdiest of the kids offered their support.
"Take it steady, yeah? Listen, I know you guys wanna get back to wherever you should be, but I think you should take a moment and rest. We can get ya some food.”
–
Lyra whined, "I'm not hungry..." She held onto her dad as he was helped up.
Food didn't sound good to her. Indigo felt the same. Thin as they were, food didn't sound.. appetizing.
–
"Mm, well, we'll see when we get to our place. You need something to drink, at least. And we have a bunch of plain foods; I'm sure I can make ya something that sounds good."
Lustre stood ready to push the wheelchair, but Sonic patted their quills and took over. "Thanks, bud, but I've got this.”
–
He held his little one close. It was nice to be off his feet. The support helped his knee feel a lot better. Lyra looked up at the Sonic and stared for a moment then looked down. She curled up as much as she could against her dad. Even tucked her tail in.
–
"Aw, hey, don't be scared... We're all friendly!" The kids ran ahead home to meet them there. "You're safe with us.”
–
Lyra looked back up at her, "i hope we aren't intruding too much. We normally recover pretty quickly.”
–
"Don't even worry about it! Ain't no trouble for us." She wheeled them to her house.
Shadow was waiting for them in the doorway, leaning on her cane. "Can I help..?"
"We're all good! Just gonna let 'em rest up a little before we see Tails.”
–
Indigo looked at Shadow. His ears pinned back as he began to pick at the fur between his fingers. Hopefully they didn't take too much of their time. Lyra also looked worried but seemed to want to trust them.
–
Shadow frowned. "Can we get you anything..? You don't look well.”
–
'*chaos sickness. My right knee hurts a lot.*' he let Lyra look up at Shadow and talk for herself.
"I don't feel good. I have chaos sickness and I feel weak. They said you have medicine. That might help.”
–
Shadow nodded. "I have spare walking sticks if you need to borrow them, and heat wraps. Aside from that, I find a hot bath helps. We have strong painkillers, although they don't work on me and have reduced effect on Nova, so I'm not sure if they'll help you much..."
"What about your old inhibitors? And Nova's Might help?"
"Maybe, but I'd be hesitant to try when we don't know if our Chaos Signatures are similar."
"Hmmm..." Sonic moved to stand with her wife. "I can get ya toast or crackers and a mug of something warm.”
He let her adjust herself to get comfortable. She was relaxing. A good sign to him.
–
"Sure! Hot milk, hot chocolate, tea, coffee?”
–
Lyra smiled, "I like to dip my toast in hot chocolate. It's good and helps. Do you not want juice?"
He waved a hand in the air, 'I dont want much right now.’
–
Sonic grinned. "That sounds like an awesome combo. Might have to give that a try myself. Kids! Come help me make some drinks!" She paused for the stampede of children and followed them into the kitchen.
Shadow leant against the dining table, folding the kids' laundry. "You don't have to worry, you know. Sonic is itching to help someone. She hasn't been able to be as active since having the baby." She watched the newcomers, concerned that Indigo might be prioritising Lyra. "Trust me, anything you let her do for you will help her just as much as it helps you.”
–
Indi stopped picking. He glanced over and then looked at the clothes on the table. She had a point. Something about kids taking after parents. His Lyra took after him a lot.
'could...I bother her for some juice? I'm not particularly picky.' he smiled, nervous about the request. 'i have liked every kind. Except green apple. It tasted so bad.'
Lyra looked at the clothes, "do you want some help?”
–
Shadow smiled. "Fruit juice, not green apple? Of course. Nova recently went through a phase of only drinking mango juice, and has since completely gone off it, so we have a surplus."
Shadow hummed and sorted the kids' clothes into four piles. "You should be resting. But if simple activities help take your mind off the sickness, you could pair everyone's socks.”
–
"it helps. Usually I would tinker and make stuff from thrown away parts but my shop is back home. I also am still learning a lot. I made my own device to travel like dad but it isn't as good."
She showed a broken device on her wrist. The screen was cracked and every part was completely mismatched. Some were even rusted over from age.
"It's not as good as Dad's is. He has a better design and I can't replicate it" she carefully moved to a table chair to help sort the socks out.
–
Shadow looked impressed. "Ah. A young genius. Do you get along with Tails in your world?" She laughed. "My kids take after Sonic more than me. They're street-smart and cool in a crisis, but I don't think they're very academic. Not yet, anyway."
The kids walked in with trays of toast, chips, dips, various cut fruits and vegetables. Sonic followed with a tray of drinks. "Here we go! A snacky little feast.”
–
Lyra smelled the food and heard her stomach growl. She grabbed it and let out a nervous laugh. She was more hungry than she thought. Indi laughed at her reaction. It was cute to him. He looked at Shadow.
'make a long story short, Tails doesn't talk to us. I don't even know if he is alive.'
He shrugged. He really didn't know. Lyra never met him and she'd probably never get the chance.
–
"Nova?" Shadow stroked her kid's head. "Could you get some juice, please?"
"'Kay." They ran back to the kitchen.
"Sorry for assuming. I thought, since you had asked for Tails... Well, we're used to her being prominent in our lives."
Sonic looked uncomfortable.
Nova returned with the juice. "Here, mama."
"For Indi, star."
They nodded and brought the carton and a cup over to him, bowing their head shyly.
–
He gently took the cup and carton. Smiling at Nova as a thank you. Then poured some into the glass.
"I never met him. Dad doesn't talk much about the past. I met..." Lyra thought back. "Grandpa Shadow but he also wasn't really nice. I never got to meet Grandpa Sonic or Grandma Amy."
She kept thinking.
"Honestly, dad never talks much in general about anyone he knew as a kid.”
–
"Oh. That's... I'm sorry."
Shadow watched Indigo, an unreadable expression on her face. "What did they do to you?"
"Shads, you can't just—we don't know their situation."
"He's practically dripping with guilt. That doesn't just come out from nowhere.”
–
His ears folded back. Where to start...even years after it all went down, it was hard to bring up. He stared at juice in his cup as if it could help. He never talked about it in front of the kids because it was, at best; a part of the darkest part in his young life. He wasn't even sure if he could write it out without the kids reading it.
–
"I knew it."
Sonic chewed her lip. "... Hey, Lyra looks like she's perking up! Do you kids wanna do something fun, maybe go show Lyra around?"
"... Can we take the apples?"
"Pffft. Yes, Lustre, you can take whatever snacks you want.”
–
She looked at her dad and got a nod. With the permission, she stumbled and followed with her food and drink. She noticed that she was never allowed to hear about his past at all. It had to be pretty bad if only adults could know.
–
As the kids left, Sonic and Shadow sat down in front of Indi so they'd be able to see him better. Sonic glanced at Shadow. "... You don't have to tell us everything. Or anything, honestly. If it's not something you talk about, we get it. I mean, we are strangers, sort of."
Shadow rested against her wife's side. "But please know that, whatever has happened to you, it's not your fault.”
–
He took a deep breath. Then let it out. How to make this...friendly as possible. Plus where to start. Maybe...
'first off, let me start by saying that it...is a dark story. Eggman, the...the one my parents fought, he...went mad. In a bad way. I lived on an island with so many people. We enjoyed it and it was the best. Amy, My mom..'
He stopped for a moment.
'she was amazing. I miss her now. My dad's, Sonic and Shadow, were full of life. Then we...a virus came. We...lost so many...mom was among them. Vanilla...Eggman too. My uncle Tails and Sonic never were the same. My father, Shadow wasn't either. Tails left with Cream. Shadow and Sonic left when I was 20, two days before my coronation to be king. All three of my parents are gone. I don't miss my Shadow. But I miss my dad. I miss my mom. I don't want Lyra and Rave to know because I...'
He gripped his hands together. The things he did when he lost it. The blood on his hands from seeking every virus and plague. No matter how many lives he saved, he still.
–
Shadow turned to Sonic, confusion plain on her face. "Who was..? I didn't recognise—"
"Ah, Amy. Probably his world's Jamie."
"Oh. Amy, Sonic, and Shadow..."
"Yeah."
"All gone?"
Sonic nodded. She turned her attention back to Indigo while Shadow processed the information. "Two kids, huh? That's amazing! She seems like a great kid, too. You must be doin' somethin' right, there, huh?”
–
He nodded, 'i have a third. Her name is Harper. My wife Mina is very happy to have her in our life. As am I. I love all three dearly.’
–
"Three!" Sonic ignored her wife gently rubbing her back. Now was not the time to get sad thinking about the possibility of losing Jamie, or Tails, or Shadow. "Well, it sounds like you're trying to be the best you can for them, right?”
–
He nodded, 'always will. I want them to be happy. I would bend mountains for them.'
He smiled as he thought about Mina.
'i would give Mina the universe if it were possible.’
–
"Hmmm..." Sonic tapped her chin. "Bent mountains, whole universes... I mean, that's great and all, but I think you can give 'em something better than any of that."
"She means taking care of yourself.”
–
'yeah. I need to get better at doing that. I am sure I make her worry. I fall into bad habits but I have gotten better. I used to run from my problems to help others solve theirs. Now, I am slowly facing them. It's... absolutely terrifying but I am working on it’
–
"It's never easy, but it is worth it. You should eat something, if you can."
"How you feeling now?”
–
'*my knee doesn't hurt as much. The extra support really helped. I am still worried about getting back home but you made a good point. I should focus on getting better first. So, I'll try to eat. I bet me and my little one look like bones.'
He laughed as he reached for some of the food.
–
"It's hard to prioritise nourishment. Especially if you always feel as though you're running for your life."
"But kids can be great little reminders!" Sonic smiled. "Eat when they eat, rest when they rest. Teach 'em how important it is to do all that stuff."
"No matter how much of a rush you're in to get home, skipping taking care of yourself isn't going to get you there sooner.”
–
He heard his tail wag and grabbed it, 'i am so sorry. I..'
He forgot how happy it felt to have parents who care. Multiverse parents always made him feel better and he wanted to at least act like an adult. He was 21 and he was acting like a happy kid.
'sorry, that...' he felt so embarrassed.
–
"Why're you sorry? Kid, don't even worry about it. You should see Shadow when I scratch that spot between her shoulder quills!"
"Shush."
"All I'm saying is, it's natural. You're fine.”
–
'i...tend to lean towards mother affection is all. I never knew why until it was brought up that I miss it and often seek it out.'
He ate a small snack and heard his stomach growl. Oh, he was hungry. He didn't even notice that.
–
"Mm, careful kid, or you'll be walking out of here with two new moms and a bunch of kid siblings."
Shadow rolled her eyes.
–
'i'll keep that in mind.' he filled his plate and started to eat.
He didn't look at Shadow. He had a feeling she was weary of him. That was okay though. He didn't blame her.
–
"So how did you end up here, anyways? Just out universe hopping for fun?"
Shadow rested her head on Sonic's shoulder. "Do you always take such a hit when you do so?”
–
'I was gonna take Lyra out for training with her bow and chaos arrows. Help regulate our supercharged chaos energy. But our devices just freaked out of nowhere and broke’
–
Shadow raised an eyebrow. "... Well, you're welcome to train here. There's an abandoned quarry nearby; we use it with Lustre."
"But not until you've both rested up, all right?”
–
He nodded, 'thank you. I'll repay you for this.’
–
"Psshhh. No need! Besides, I think the kids appreciate getting to hang out with somebody a little more... Like them, y'know?”
–
Indi nodded, 'oh, my name is Indigo. Indi for short. Sorry for not properly introducing myself’
–
"Yeah, the kids went up against ya, right? Unless that was a different you! Multiverses mess me up."
"And we're used to everyone knowing who we are."
"Whoops, yeah. I'm Sonic, and my gorgeous wife is Shadow. Aaaand you know the kids. Zephyr's sleeping.”
–
'same one. As far as I know I am the only one. My sister Luna is back with Grandma and Grandpa. She doesn't leave home once she is back’
–
Shadow frowned. "Do you visit her, then?”
–
'i do. I don't live there sadly. I live, well did, live back home. Currently Locked out so can't get back.’
–
"Oof. That's... Rough."
"I hope you can get back soon.”
–
He nodded and kept eating. He was surprised it helped. It was nice to not feel sick.
–
"Do you need anything else from us? More food, drinks, medical supplies, change of clothes…”
–
He looked at the food as he ate. He was content with the amount.
'No, but if your Tails is willing to help? I'll understand if he isn't or you're uncomfortable with it. Then me and my little one can get up figure it out. We have before.’
–
"Oh, she'll help for sure. Loves any excuse to tinker."
"We don't want to send you off without everything you need. If you want to rest here for a day or so…”
–
'if it's okay, can we? I don't want to push Lyra. She takes longer to recover and I want her to be okay’
–
"Of course! But it's okay for you to need rest, too, y'know."
"I'm sure we have some clothes that will fit Lyra.”
–
He nodded, 'thank you. I'll take it easy too.'
He ate til full and relaxed back.
–
The kids ran back into the house. Lustre took an apple from the table. "You done talking grown-up stuff?"
Shadow nodded. "I think so. How's Lyra?”
–
Indi looked over to Lustre. He was sure his little one was probably either sleeping, quietly playing or enjoying herself in some way.
–
"She's been hanging out with Nova. Me and Lyra—uhh, our Lyra—wanted to play soccer."
Sonic flicked Lustre's nose playfully. "Good job, kiddo. Lyra's gonna be staying with us for a little while, so you're gonna have to share a room with the twins."
"Really?? YES!!”
–
He laughed. His little one was gonna make friends. She'd enjoy that. He laid on the table and chose to listen to them.
–
"You should rest, Indigo." Shadow nodded to him. "We can set up the couch and leave you alone.”
–
He looked up and nodded. Yawning as he pushed himself up. The knee still throbbed but that was normal.
–
Shadow set the sofa up with pillows and blankets, leaning against the back of it for support. "Sorry we can't offer a bed. With the kids getting big and the baby around, we're a bit tight on room."
"Lyra, sweetie?" Sonic approached her. "Do you wanna stay down here with your dad?”
–
Indi waved a hand with a grateful smile. He didn't mind. He hit the couch and crashed right away.
Lyra looked up at her and then at her dad. He was asleep. She looked at the floor for a second and then at Sonic.
"I'll stay with dad. He might need me.”
–
"All right, kiddo. You take care of your dad and make sure you rest up good, okay?" Sonic smiled. "Come find any of us if you need something.”
–
Lyra nodded, "Ms. Sonic, I'm sorry. We really are normally better than this. Dad can't say it but I got told I am a lot like him so I know how he feels." She leaned against the couch and looked at her broken device. Maybe she could fix it...make it work a bit better.
–
Sonic looked sad. "Baby, you don't need to apologise for needing help. It's okay to lean on others. You're both doing great, but you don't have to do it alone.”
–
She smiled, "I can't wait for Tails. Is he nice?”
–
"Oh, she's awesome. She's also a chick in this world. And she's great. She'll love ya!”
–
"I can't wait to meet her. I hope she can help fix these. I ran out of parts back home."
She looked at the device and smiled.
"I used an old phone, some spare parts from an old teleporter I found and some keypad parts from an old Eggman base.”
–
"Oh, she's gonna be impressed as hell with this. You're a smart li'l cookie!" Sonic patted her head.
–
She giggled and looked proud of herself. Her tail even wagged at the compliment.
–
"Heh. You're adorable. You get some rest, okay? You and your dad are gonna be just fine.”
–
"okay," She nodded and stayed against the couch.
–
Sonic pushed a pile of cushions and blankets close and left the pair to rest.
–
Lyra left her device on the floor. Climbing onto the couch and curling up with her dad.
