Projection on the Bridge - Immersive Surfaces - As Above, So Below

Resident Creative Studio designer Sina Taherkhani bridged the gap between reality and fantasy, helming a team of animators and VFX artists charged with creating, "As Above, So Below," one of a three-part immense-scale projection/mapping installation. The high-resolution content transformed the Manhattan Bridge into a transparent portal to a surreal world where larger than life people float in zero gravity. Immersive Surfaces which kicked off The DUMBO Arts Festival and attracted crowds in lower Manhattan netted "Best Exhibition" honors at the festival.

Conceived for this year's DUMBO arts festival, 'immersive surfaces' is a projection installation that maps the elevation of the manhattan bridge anchorage and archway. exploring the idea of 'crowd art' while pushing the boundaries of new cutting-edge video technology, the exhibition features pieces created by over 20 international artists and curators on a surface measuring over 2,700 m2.

Immersive Surfaces

I was lucky enough to see this piece live at the DUMBO Arts Festival this past Saturday, September 24th, w/my friend, Marion Talan, who did the costumes for the aerialists/movement performers. Very Cool!
