I had this thought, and maybe it isn’t useful or it already exists, but I’m gonna share it anyway and maybe if I’m lucky I’ll get to see some shared opinions on it☺️

Okay, so I was thinking about how many of us are

Having a hard time finding betas

Looking to improve our writing skills

So I thought: what if we made an Ao3 collection or a discord or something, where we could help each other out with both at the same time?

My idea was that anybody could join and submit a draft, or even a sort of assignment/idea/advice for practicing writing. It would be dedicated to one fandom, or maybe one trope, ship or even character.

So you would for example upload your draft, and if someone wanted to, they could use it to practice with, kind of like assignments we used to do in school, where we had a text and a certain assignment. For example someone could open the draft, and set an assignment for themselves, like: trying to add body language, finding a good way to transition between scenes, cut out unnecessary information, or add mor information about emotions, surroundings, background or whatever.

If the author of the draft needed help with something specific, they could make that clear, and whoever used it to practice with could then send their suggestions to the author - that way the author would get some help with betaing.

Anybody who wanted to just share advice, could upload ideas on how to practice, or just plain advice, to the collection/server, in a way that made it possible to sort through it.

There are many problems, and I don’t know that much as I’m not good with technology and stuff, so there might be many more problems with it than upsides.

Some I can think of is that in order for people to upload a draft, they had to be sure that their idea or writing wasn’t stolen, there would have to be some way to sort through the content, it would probably take several mods managing it, and there should be a way for the author and beta to communicate and credit the beta when the fic is posted.

But yeah, I just wanted to share that thought, as could maybe be a cool thing to have.

What do you guys think? Unless nobody thinks anything about this lil post and it won’t get any notes or replies, in which case, fair enough haha ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but if anybody does have thought or knowledge, feel free to interact!

What is this blog all about?

Ok well recently I've felt a little demotivated when it came to my music; I play piano and cello.

So I thought hey why not try and force yourself to do it by having a blog that you're going to have to update every day?

I've decided to start off by challenging myself to a 100 day challenge where I must either, play piano, cello or do some theory, in order for my day to count as having been musically productive.

I also want to try and get some other musicians on here to do the same! Just tag me in your posts and I will show my love and support by reposting and or sending a message.

In some of my 'progress entries' I will be posting some videos or photos of what I'm working on, so keep an eye out for those too!
