Four. Four soulmates. Oh Kamisama no! - Reader x ShiggyOverDabiHawks 18
💞Chapter 18: Period Comfort
He had been hunting for you since the moment you were stolen from him.
His mate.
His huntress.
His starlight.
The only woman a God would abandon his Godhood for.
He'd become a mortal man for you.
His little dove.
Time passed.
He could hardly recall how many days had passed since that night. He remembered sending his companions and most trusted followers to search for you across the dark, violent seas. Every corner of the globe, through ancient and unknown lands, far from the east, north, west, and south. Forests and patches of green, mountains covered in snow, which he'd never seen, only knew from your description of the cold, white, beautiful ice crystals, and over the oceans.
He's only slept and eaten enough to stop himself from collapsing in exhaustion, starving off the madness and darker emotions threatening to overrun the god's mind. If it wasn't for his duties keeping him busy, Hawks knew he would have simply vanished, flown off, searching for you himself, no matter how far and wide.
He had to save his strength and magic for the battle ahead.
Hawks had to face himself, his innermost, darker self, in the mirror every day. Dark and heated whispers, mocking him for being weak. Allowing a half-human, half-goddess to tear her hands into his chest and steal his heart. His so-called "Beloved mate." The stress, emptiness, and loneliness were eating him alive. Seeping deep into the marrow of his bones, destroying the ancient god, turning him into a cold-blooded and uncaring being. Hells and heavens bent on destroying anything and everything within the world and realms until he got you back.
Days, weeks, months passed.
His companions and followers searched.
Hunting for you.
Hawks tilted his head back. Was this the loneliness you'd often spoken of? During your earliest memories of your childhood? Everyone around you disappearing? Dying? Leaving or abandoning you for someone more like them? Someone mortal? A flickering of hope for companionship and courtship that would grow old with them? Names only whispered and carried on the wind, lost within the sands of time and past into the realm of dreams, forgotten and into the eternal darkness.
I will bring you home, my dove. Hawks thought. I meant it. You will become my wife. My bride. His golden, honey eyes flickered and glistened with unshed tears. This bond. His mouth tightened in anger. This love we share won't be so easily broken.
Keigo awoken with a start, tears falling free from his sleep haze filled vision. His heart clenched painfully tight within his chest; he felt as if he couldn't breathe properly until he knew you were safe. Home. Alive. Within his reach. Dove. He thought, lips shut tight as he bit back a whinnying whimper. Ever since that night he's instincts had awakened, he's had dreams of you. No, that wasn't quite right. Memories. Memories of another life. The fates and gods intertwining your souls, a match between him, a winged Egyptian God and you... a demi goddess, a halfling, half mortal and half goddess. His dove. His huntress. A foreign goddess. Completing the cruel trials to become a true goddess.
Every night would be the same.
His other self, loving you, searching frantically for you.
His beloved mate.
Keigo sat upright, holding his aching head. His body covered in sweat, naked, and his legs tangled in the sheets after having kicked off the blanket in the middle of the night. Red feather pulsating and vibrating, threatening to open the door and check on you as you slept. And what made matters worse was that last night you had come home, reeking of blood. It set his most carnal and animalistic instincts into a near frenzy. He stopped himself from rushing forward and snatching you out of Dabi's arms. Then he caught the scent of alcohol and another man's scent on your clothes, mingling with Dabi's. Keigo sat red. His hands clenched into white knuckled fists as he fought to control his temper.
First Overhaul.
Then Shigaraki.
And now, Dabi?
It drove Keigo mad.
He remembered what you wore vividly. A simple cloak, foreign weapons, and clothes covering your body as you wore leather britches, boots, and an old amulet he'd given to you as a gift. A golden hawk with rubies embedded in the metal, blessed by Khonsu himself, who owed him a favor. "It's becoming harder and harder to hold myself back." Keigo groaned pitifully, sighing as he pushed aside the soaked sheets and stood slowly to his feet, the carpet floor tickling his sensitive skin. His wing twitched, and crimson red feathers circled around the room as if they had a mind of their own, seeking a way out. The Hero was overwhelmed, his nerves overloaded, and his mind frazzled as he furiously scratched his hands through his golden, unruly locks.
He smelt it again.
The iron and metallic scent caused his body to tense and become wound tight.
He'd been around enough women in his life to know when they were on their periods, but this was the first time the scent and change in your pheromones, hormones, and scent rocked him to the very core of his being.
Flashes of last night came back to the forefront of his mind.
Dabi kicks the back door of your house until Shigaraki lets him in. The black-haired pyromaniac rushed inside, carrying you in his arms, panting as you clutched onto him and his jacket in pain. Burying your face into his chest as silent tears fall down your face. Your body shook, gritting your teeth as the scent of your pain, embarrassment, and blood washed over him. "Goddamn...." Dabi panted, his body sagging against the threshold of the back door. "Wh-" He gulped down mouthfuls of hair, black smoke rising from his sweat-covered skin. "Why'd you not carry any period products in your purse, if you knew your cycle was close?"
You groan loudly, hissing and releasing a choked sob. "It came a week early, dumbass."
Hawks knew you would be angry, but he rushed forward, gentle and quickly tugging you into his arms, which Dabi didn't complain about. "It's okay," he whispered softly, his hold on you tightening. He wanted to cover you in his feathers. "I've got you, dove."
You were still upset at the winged hero but accepted his offer of help and comfort. "Thanks."
Hawks made his way towards the hallway bathroom and set you down gently onto the toilet seat. "Here, I'll run you a bath." He began rummaging through the cabinet underneath the sink, finding bath salts, bath bombs, and bubble bath. "Let's see Lavender and Chamomile for nerves," he muttered to himself out loud, pulling out the liquid bubble bath and pouring it into the bath. "Eucalyptus for aches and pains," he added a cup full of bath salts and then a blue bath bomb. "A bath bomb for fun." He chuckles to himself. Rolling up the sleeves of his shirt, dipping a hand into the warm, soapy bath water, and rotating his right arm in a clockwise, stirring motion.
You watched, holding your middle. "You didn't really have to do this, Hawks." You whispered softly, a faint and pitiful sound that made his heart clench and squeeze painfully within his chest.
He didn't have the heart to correct you. Not now. Not when you needed all the pampering, love, and care during your time of the month. "Are you all stocked up on supplies?" Keigo asked, choosing to change the subject.
You lean over and gently yank open your period drawer and stash. "Ah, shit." You cursed and sighed in exasperation, raising a hand to rub your aching forehead. "I'm about out of everything."
Keigo turned off the faucet, stood to his feet, reached for a hand towel on the drying rack, and used it. "Overhaul is at the store. Let me call him and -"
"What?" You blushed. "No. It's fine, I can go-" another wave of terrible cramps hit, this time it was your lower back. "Ouch."
Keigo glanced over his shoulder at you, frowning. "Let us handle it." He really wanted to say, 'Let me handle it, ' but he couldn't, so he didn't. The winged man walked calmly past you and out of the bathroom, adding. "Go ahead. Get undressed and hop in." Pulling out his phone, which rang three times before Overhaul picked up.
"What is it?" Overhaul asked calmly and causal on the phone.
"Y/n is out of period supplies," Keigo informed him.
The masked man on the other line blinked. "She's out of everything?" He placed the loaf of bread into the shopping cart. "Are you certain?"
"Yeah, she checked," Keigo replied, leaning back against the door of your bathroom. His nerves still overloaded and overwhelmed, trying to calm down his racing heartrate.
"Alright." Overhaul turned the car around and headed in the direction of all the period and feminine products. "What exactly does she need?" His golden eyes scanned and skimmed over every single unfamiliar brand, product, and item lining the shelves. "Pads? Tampons? Light? Heavy? Diva cup?" His thin brow rose at the last one. How does that go in? He picked the box up, flipped over the back, read it, blinked, grimaced, and put it back. That sounds messier and more of a hassle to clean up after.
Damn, Keigo forgot to ask what exactly you needed. He didn't really want to bother you. Biting his lower lip, he snuck down the hall and into the living room where Dabi was sitting on the couch, wearing a bag of frozen peas and carrots around the back of his neck. "Hey Dabi. Did you happen to see what kind of period products or brand Y/n uses?"
Dabi rotated his neck, moving the frozen veggies onto the other side of his neck, and cracked open an eye. "The fuck would I know? Ask her."
Shigaraki came out of your room with a handful of clothes lying over his forearm. "Don't women crave chocolate and other junk?"
Dabi hums. "Yeah, candy bars, cakes, muffins, ice cream, whatever works."
"We will have to change up tonight's menu to include meat to help replace the iron and minerals she's lacking." Overhaul said in a matter-of-fact tone. "Meats, vegetables, and fruits." He pulled his phone away from his ear to pull up Google for suggestions. "Food with magnesium helps with bloating and relax muscles," he hums in thought, "So steak and bananas? Maybe broccoli?" He continues to read, muttering to himself as he taps his foot. "Omega-3s, vitamin b, calcium, and fiber." He inwardly sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "I'm going to need more hands." The brunette concluded.
"Who?" Hawks replied, taking the phone away from his ear and putting the crow on speaker.
"I said I will need more hands." Overhaul repeated, tone serious. "I need all four of you here to help me carry everything since we don't have a car or license."
"We aren't your pack mules." Dabi rolls his eyes, glaring.
"Don't be an ungrateful brat." The yakuza clicked his tongue, ignoring the looks of strangers eyeing him as they walked past. "If she has any boxes lying around, take pictures and send them to me. Now, hurry up."
The crime boss hung up.
Keigo sighed. "You heard him."
Shigaraki and Dabi grumbled. They stood, putting on their hoodies and shoes, sluggishly heading towards the front door.
After informing you that all four men were leaving on a period supply run, they came back grumbling and bickering twenty minutes later.
You strolled out of the bathroom, freshly bathed, drying your hair, and dressed after rinsing yourself off in the shower, and managed to find one pad in the very back of your period supply drawer. "Thank you, guys, you really didn't have to." You grimaced and winced through the pain. "I'm sorry, Chisaki, that you had to go out of your way."
"It's fine." The mob boss nodded his head. "It's natural and something that cannot be helped." He set everything down on top of the kitchen table: Dabi, Hawks, and Shigaraki, adding to the pile. "Unless you were on birth control?"
"No." You shook your head. "I don't feel... comfortable shoving anything up there." You admitted, blushing and fiddling with your hands. Your gaze fell downward to glance at the different off-brand and brand-name period products, pads, thin pads, overnight pads, disposable period underwear, tampons, heating pad, chocolate, ice cream, muffins, vegetables, fish, and meat. You honestly couldn't believe what you were seeing. All four of them went to the store. Together. Buying food and period products for you. Including your favorite snacks.
Keigo wanted to scoop you into his arms, snuggle into you, offering you his warmth, support, and body heat, hand feed you chocolate, ice cream, or whatever you wanted as you sat in his lap. Coo and purr softly into your ear. He didn't. "Come, please, sit down and rest." He gently curled one of his giant red wings around you, herding you in the direction of the couch where your favorite blanket, plushies of them, heating pad, snacks, midol, and drinks sat on the coffee table.
The shaky smile tugging on your lips as you burst into more tears, causing his hold to tighten a tad. "Thank you." You muttered, sniffing and wiping away tears.
Overhaul dragged both Hawks and Shigaraki into the kitchen to help him cook a miniature feast.
After you nibbled on some chocolate, took your pain reliever, and drank some pineapple coconut water, you passed out on the couch, curled up in your blanket, and your head was lying in Dabi's lap. The patchwork man sat beside you, rubbing your aching lower back with his hand, heating his fingers and palm without burning you, switching between massaging gently and rotating in small circles. Dabi never would have thought he could be comforting anyone like this, aside from his mother when she was pregnant, or her own cycle had come. He hated the flutter of butterflies churning and tickling his stomach. He was supposed to be the world's fearful villain, not your personal heating pad. The flame users' cheeks heated.
The smell of cooking from the kitchen made his stomach growl and his mouth water.
Butter and garlic salmon fillets, breaded cubed steak with brown and mushroom gravy, a light chilled yogurt fruit salad, broccoli and cheese with a side of white rice were spread on the kitchen table, the portions already served by the time the yakuza boss called everyone.
Dabi paused his ministration to lightly shake you awake. "Hey, wake up."
You mumble something in your sleep and nuzzle his upper thigh like a cat, wrapping an arm around his leg and tightening your grip.
His cheeks burned hotter, a pinkish hue adoring his healthy and scarred purple skin. "C'mon, pri-" He paused, mentally cursing. "Doll, wake up." He clicked his tongue, shaking you slightly harder, his heartbeat quickening within his chest, betraying him. Dammit, he almost called you that weird nickname again.
You continued to sleep, snoring softly.
Dabi had half a mind to shove you off the couch when Shigaraki came strolling over, chuckling softly.
"Stuck?" The pale blue-haired gamer knelt down, inching closer to you and Dabi, unwrapping you from the annoyed and embarrassed black-haired villain, and helped you sit upright, being mindful of not touching your clothes, pinkies raised out of habit. "Wake up." He lightly pats your cheek. "It's time to eat," he murmurs softly, brushing strands of your hair out of your face and behind your ear.
You groan, blinking and opening your eyes, sleepily meeting Shigaraki's blood red crimsons. Giving the decay villain a breathtaking, cute, sleepy smile. "Mornin'"
Shigaraki's scarred lips twitched, threatening to crack into his own soft hint of a smile. "Good morning," he whispered back, blushing and leaning back, slowly releasing you. "Dinner is ready." He awkwardly cleared his throat.
You yawn and stretch, standing and dragging your blanket with you into the kitchen, and sit down in your favorite chair.
No one said anything.
All four men remained civil. Picking up on certain cues and ticks, signs of discomfort, if you didn't outwardly express it aside from the small, pained hissing intake of breath or muttered, "Ow." A slight muffled curse here and there. When you were becoming cold or suddenly experienced hot flashes. Or nodding off, nearly falling asleep at the dining table. It took longer to finish your sample plate, but you had eaten everything and devoured dessert like a starving little chocolate gremlin.
Dabi was stuck cleaning dishes.
Hawks snuck beside you, picked you up, and put you to bed. When he caught Dabi's scent in your room and Shigaraki's in your bed, it made him jealous, and his grip tightened around you as he set you down gently. He wanted nothing more than to curl up beside you and pull you into his chest. This time, he did. The winged hero took off his hoodie and crawled into bed, you near the wall, and him lying in the middle, one wing tugged behind him and the other covering you like a blanket. Cocooning you, keeping you warm, and the instinct to hold you closer should any of the other three try to steal you away while he sleeps.
The blonde knew it was improper. It never really stopped him before. The others had already broken the rules and social norms, so why shouldn't he? Here, he wasn't a hero. He wasn't a caged bird or an animal on a tight leash. He couldn't leave this world, but it was a small price to pay for finally gaining some messed-up form of freedom. Rediscover himself. Become someone other than Hawks, The Hero. Become Keigo, a person he hadn't allowed himself to be in a very long time. Allow himself to feel. Someone actually needed. Not acting clueless about being used and waiting to be broken and thrown away.
Hawks simply became Keigo Takami, at long last.
A man who wanted to love and be loved in return.
Just for tonight, he thought to himself. He'd let you get angry at him in the morning. Curse him, kick him out of bed, if you wanted to. His heartbeat fluttered and filled with warmth; his wings caressed your skin lazily, in loving and tender strokes. The moment his red, sensitive feather touched your skin, his body responded instantly in kind; shivers crawled down the top of his head to the base of his spine. He commanded stray feathers near all four corners of your bedroom, window, and door, should an intruder try to break in.
"Goodnight, dove," Keigo whispered quietly, placing a loving and tender kiss on your forehead, nuzzling and guiding your head closer into his chest, tangling your legs with his own. You felt perfect. Like home. Warm and soft. A rumbling purr left his chest as he listened to your even breathing and light, cute snoring. "Sweet dreams."
Keigo guided a feather to lock your bedroom door before he finally fell asleep.
