My birthday is the week after Thanksgiving. Which gives my family little time to plan stuff out, because we do everything last minute.
This year instead of deciding to be thankful on Thanksgiving, I was thankful on my birthday.
I was thankful for both of my parents, who are the reason of why I believe in soulmates, waking me up with a home-baked-cupcake with a little candle. I’m thankful for their warm hug after I made a wish. I’m thankful for them wishing me a good day at school that day, everyday. I’m thankful I had a good day. I’m thankful my sister came home and took me out and I got to spend time with her. I’m thankful ny parents taught me to hug them when I saw them come and go, not because I had to, but because there was a warmness in a greeting and a goodbye. Hello I’m home, I’m so happy you are home. Goodbye I’m leaving, I hope wherever you go today you come back into my arms. I’m thankful ny brother gave a thousand hugs and made it known that he loved me.
I figured out that day that I was so thankful for the little things. I’m so thankful for my family. I’m so thankful for them even though they drive me insane to a point I want to scream.
It was such an overwhelming feeling of gratitude. It was bigger than my heart. Bigger than me. Bigger than them.
