Hear me out Yui as a Disney princess but as either Aurora or Cinderella

Oh me gosh Yesss!!! 🤩🤩🤩

While i can see Yui as Aurora due to having a similar resemblance right down to the blonde hair, iconic pink outfit, and their perception evolution from a seeming bland and weak damsel in distress with no personality to a complex character with traits and flaws that are admirable and that said bland character is the result of the writer and fandom misinformation and dismissiveness. (I even made an oc who happens to be based on Aurora with hints of Yui’s design in there)

I always find Yui to be more like Cinderella, due to having to be abused under the hands of her evil step family (which in her case a evil step male-membered family with the Sakamakis cuz why the eff not) while trying to maintain a positive attitude and it’s only under the hidden efforts of both herself and magical help from the outside that she not that she manages to go to the ball and meet the prince (aka future and more better love of life; my oc Mitsuru) but also rebels against her step family as her “revenge” and leaves them once her prince manages to find her, securing herself for a better life after being abused for so long.

Plus I happen to have an AU that, fittingly enough, is based on Cinderella with Yui as the titular heroine and my oc as the Prince she meets in the ball. Same basic premise with some added elements from Cinderella’s Castle by Starkid and the 2015 live action remake of Disney’s Cinderella. As well as a dress design for Yui too which I based it on the dress from Vocaloid’s Cendrillion, which, you guess it, is Cinderella in French. Just to make things different but still retaining the elements the original source has

Either way, I really like both options for Yui as a Disney Princess 🥰

2. What's My Name - as badass as it gets. The best introduction any DCOM character has ever gotten. Dare I say good enough to hang with real Disney studio villain songs.

3. My Once Upon A Time - a beautiful encapsulation of what the series was about. Mal owning her mistakes, realizing her decisions are her own, and understanding that the world is hers to save or ruin now. I don't know why the song isn't more beloved in the fandom.

4. If Only - it doesn't quite hit the emotional beats it should because I think it comes too early in the movie, but it's iconic and has great vocals.

5. Ways to Be Wicked - absolute fire. Their best opener by far. Made better by the fact that it has no bearing on the plot whatsoever. It was just *that good* and they had to include it. 0% story relevancy, 100% commitment to the bit.
