I love how much you respect viewpoints in the fandom. I see waaay too many people get up in arms about somebody not liking an aspect of the show or not agreeing with some subtext or hating a character... it's just really refreshing to see somebody who's so chill with it. You seem like a great person. :)
Life is way too short to get all up in arms over something so trivial, honestly. I mean, I have my own opinions about characters and plot arcs and whatever else, and I feel certain ways about certain things, but not strongly enough to get in a fight over an opposing viewpoint.
Some people really enjoy arguing and discourse and the toing and froing that goes hand in hand with strongly held opinions, and that’s fine! Some people are good at it. Some people know how to agree or disagree passionately while simultaneously shrugging it off with ease. Others, not so much. I’m one of the latter. Which is fine. I just unfollow the arguing so I don’t absorb it and carry it with me all the time.
So it’s okay if people want to argue and rebut and challenge each other. It’s also okay to completely ignore it. The problem is when you think you HAVE to do one or the other. I think that’s where most of the issues in fandom stem. People who naturally prefer not to argue getting caught in discourse and taking it to heart. Or people who enjoy discussing all the things in a way that appeals to them and seeing nothing but what they perceive as apathy.
You just have to find your niche. Which can take time and effort, but the end result is really very pleasant.
