looks like it’s gonna be another four years of Not My President
(See the post below this for more details)
As I'm sure many of you know, tomorrow (Jan. 20th) is the US inauguration day. There has been lots of political tension here lately (see the 6th), and I wouldn't doubt there's more to come tomorrow. If you live in the US and can, stay home tomorrow. It has been confirmed (see here) that there will be violence tomorrow. Whatever you do, don't wear anything indicating who you are in support of politically, any groups your support (LGBTQ+, BLM, etc), and especially if you are a POC because I have reason to believe these are the groups that are the most likely to be targeted tomorrow with whatever may go down. Tell trusted people where you will be tomorrow and for how long if you are going out, and stay safe.
Please also go over ways to defend yourself in the scenario that something bad happens and you have to fight back. Organize safe spots (preferably with medical aid available at them) with your friends and/or anyone you will be with so you can hide or group back up together. Think about the views of people around you and what they may be against for not only your own safety but also the safety of anyone you know. Go over times and where someone will be tomorrow (especially if they fall under the listed supporting categories on the last announcement) so you know if something is wrong, and check in with them every hour or so. Be cautious tomorrow
TL;DR: Know your allies, where your friends will be, safe spots, and where to get medical help. Stay home tomorrow (20th) if you can
