Inanimate Object Characters List | Entry: 69

WARNING: This includes works containing severe sexual content

Good Lord Almighty, have mercy on my soul...

Yeah, this is the worst post yet and I do not enjoy writing it. I will be writing parahraphs, but that's to demotivate you to look this all up.

Some entries that are related to vehicles (cars mostly):

We're heading into the gutter right away with a car commercial in a certain movie, called Southland Tales. It's a scene were we basically find out how babies are made in the Cars universe (just kidding, of course - but it might as well be true). This is only a commercial in the movie. And surprisingly, it's the "least obscene" movie (scene) here.

Then, there's this abominable, ungodly movie. I initially thought it was a movie for me. Turned out real fast... I was wrong. VERY WRONG. And no, I didn't finish the movie. Not only did I feel my innocence and sanity flying away, but the storyline was batshit crazy and the main character was nothing less than a psychopath. It's a French movie.

I still need that therapy for what my eyes and consciousness had to go through. An extremely gross movie. And I'm not just talking about those "two specific scenes". The entire movie was perverted (and yes, I didn't watch is start to end, but I surely have seen enough to know).

Don't watch unless you want to see extremely unatractive nudity and sicko sexual activity every split second. I found it very distrurbing.

These vehicles weren't even "characters", but somehow, she was able to screw them both and even get pregnant from that car. So Idfk.

There is also this book I sort of accidentally bought for school (they always list the most lunatic books) that includes a simultaniously-front-and-back-penetration sex passage of a man (nameless, is continuously referred to as "mister") and an AI car named Jerôme. I won't torture you with more details. It's called De Goede Zoon. It's a Dutch book (NOT proud of it).

EDIT: I hadn't read the entire book (not interested in reading about sexual topics in explicit words and strange ways every darn page) and only now I found out that there's also an (AI) elevator talking at some point (so I assume there might be more of that), but this is NOT an instance where I'm happy with a sentient/AI/robotic elevator talking.

I had written an entire essay ready about Jumbo since forever, but then today, I thought "it's not worth so many words". The text was mostly about my mixed feelings about it (though it was majorily negative). In short, shit was unhinged, made me feel uncomfortable, simultaneously did get a cry-laugh out of me a couple of times because of its absurdity and my obsession, obviously, but don't get me wrong: I definitely don't support normalization of such sexualities. Worst part may be the fact that it's based on a real story (I knew about that story long before I came to know about the movie even).

Don't watch unless you want to see boobs a hundreth times and witness a woman making out with an amusement ride. ᴸᶦᵏᵉ, ᶜᵒᵐᵉ ᵒⁿ!

By the way, it's actually unknown whether or not Jumbo is secretly sentient, but even if he isn't, he's portrayed as such. Thus, eligible.

Titane was a French movie. This is also a French movie (not as abhorrent as Titane, but still moderately questionable). Very different type of movie, but so was the movie Cuties (don't look it up). No hate, but I'd like to ask the people of France: ARE YOU GUYS OKAY...?

Character: Move It aka Jumbo | Movie: Jumbo (2020)

Finally, I have three short erotic object novels of which I happened to stumble upon the first two on Tumblr, actually (and the last one I discovered today). If I was cuckoo, I might as well had been the one who'd written these. (Especially the door story. Although, I scrolled through that story and he takes on a human form in the female main character's dream - which I wouldn't have done, duh. Lol.)

SOME NOTES REGARDING THIS POST:

The things I hate most about these works, is not even the fact that there is romance between human and an object. There could be such things in fictional work and it would just be funny or unique. I mean, you bet I, out of all people, think it can be a pretty fun concept (which was, in fact, a little bit the case in Reborn As a Vending Machine and Suzume). And heck, I myself have made object characters before that either had a crush or were in a relationship with a human. I've read various fanfics of characters appearing earlier on in this list that also involved interspecies relationships. (Tbh, I even asked ChatGPT before to write stories about "peculiar circumstances" for fun, too. Hahahaha. Don't bully me.) But all of these are overly sexual (with Titane, for example, I'd call it pornographic even - and the rest of the movie was utterly disturbing as well) and too often realistic in a way as to normalize such sexualities in real life, which I do not approve of.

And though I find it contradictionary to write much more about these type of works than the ones I do like and love, I feel the need to tell you about what these works contain. Now I can sleep knowing that if one of y'all decided to traumatize themselves, it was by choice. Aside from that, I want to make clear that this is not what my obsession encompasses. That being said, I realize the Southland Tales was more of a comedical thing and at least the novels didn't include any graphics. Jumbo was already criminal, but I'm able to regard it as a movie. Titane was straight-up wicked, though. Don't watch it. Please.

I wish there was more of NORMAL life-action media (and not horror movies) with inanimate object characters. I guess Herbie, Knight Rider and Who Framed Roger Rabbit count, but those really are the only ones I can come up with. I guess we don't deserve it.
