Y'all, new Firefly book. And judging by the cover, it's going to be a Inara focused story! I really hope it addresses the terminal illness mystery that was hinted at a couple of times in Firefly.

Except that she ends up leaving anyway because while her heart belongs to Serenity and to Mal and to the rest of the crew, at the same time Inara comes to realize that if she stays things will only be more complicated simply because because of how much she loves all of it so much. To be able to make that decision is beautiful and brave and incredible and it hurts me but my love for Inara Sera- the choices she makes and who she is as a woman- and my love for this show knows no bounds.

Fun fact about Lauren:

When I was in beauty school we had to pick a fake name to go by. Partly because we where in a pretty sleazy area so it gave us a little extra safety. But mostly so we wouldn't have 4 people named Lauren. (It's hard to schedule appointments when you're not sure which person they want to have an appointment with)

I chose the name Inara for obvious reasons.

This proved a hilarious choice because about once a week because about once a week one of my guests would look at me and say, 

"Isn't that the prostitute from that space tv show?"

And I would just look at them and say in the most even tone I could muster, "The term is companion"

haha, I'm so funny! 

Also, now every time I watch Firefly or Serenity and hear anyone say "Inara" I still feel like it's my name.... awww memories
