@incendiiac
he looks just how riku remembered him the last time he saw him: hair as red as the setting sun with green eyes just as striking; even with riku being dead for years upon years, it seemed like he hasn’t aged at all. disgusting: it was making his stomach twist, especially with the memories he associates with that stupid coat, that stupid hair, that stupid face--
oh, wait: there was something different after all. he knows he should turn around and stalk away before he regrets it (like every interaction he’s ever had with the man), but it’s childish curiosity that keeps him rooted to the spot. he steels himself as he takes a few steps closer to get a better look, eyes so intense on his face.
“what happened with those markings?” upside purple tear drops, weren’t they? such a thing couldn’t just vanish, could they? “well, whatever. they looked stupid anyway.”
[ STARTER; @incendiiac ]
It was when the boy from the purest form of darkness had decided to do some exploring, during his search for another world to torment that he had found a being dressed in a familiar coat. Fancy that, coming across one of the Masters to-be vessels. He’d been told all of Xehanort’s plans and knew very well that he should keep his mouth shut, but Vanitas wasn’t the best at doing as he was told if his personal interests got in the way.
“You, you’re one of the Organizations idiots, aren’t you?” And they really were idiots, believing such a lie.

"Brought ya somethin'." There's a steaming cup held between his palms, kept warm by his ever-present heat. Lea's not entirely sure /where/ the need to bring Ienzo cocoa came from, but it's late and he's feeling kind so he's going to offer it up anyway. Maybe he just wanted to do something useful, rather than wander the Castle like a wraith. He never sleeps when he stays here. "Hope it's okay. What'cha doin', anyway?"
Curled up on a sofa tucked away into a secluded corner of the library, Ienzo sits with a book—uncharacteristically closed—on his lap. He’s so deep in thought he fails to notice Lea until the redhead is right there. Not used to people coming up to his space, or what he’s come to think of as his, Ienzo startles at Lea’s voice but he recovers quickly. (Ienzo has his own bedroom in the Castle, the very same he used to sleep in when he was a child. They moved his personal belongings, few as they are, there soon after they discovered it. He’s barely set foot in there since. If he hasn’t passed out over his work in the study, he usually sleeps here.) For a moment he wonders if there’s an ulterior motive, but maybe, just maybe, Lea’s doing it just because he can do it. Because unlike before, an act of kindness just for the sake of being kind isn’t meaningless. “—Oh.” He accepts the cocoa with a small nod. “Thank you. You didn’t need to.”
He takes a sip of the cocoa. It’s almost too hot and almost too sweet, and he’s quick to take another sip, bigger this time. It’s so good it makes Ienzo’s toes curl a little, and it draws a content smile out of him.
“Nothing of importance. Just reading,” he replies, then glances down at the closed book in his lap. He shakes his head. “Or thinking, really.” He hasn’t even noticed how late it’s gotten, or how lonely the empty library is. After a brief consideration, Ienzo pats the seat beside him. “…Join me?”
