A tear ran down your cheek as you sealed the envelope with the letter and photo inside. “You okay, sweetheart?”
You looked up at Dean and nodded. Putting the envelope down, you sniffled and wiped your cheeks. “I’m good.”
“What are you writing?”
“Just a thank you.” You smiled at him. “Sam holding Willow again?”
Dean chuckled and nodded. “Yeah. He’s so in love with her. I put her down, and the second she made a tiny sound, he had her in his arms.”
“Dad back yet?” Dean shook his head. “It’s been a few days..”
“Yeah.” He sighed. “I’m going to go look for him if we don’t hear from him by tomorrow. Bobby was planning on coming up to meet her, so.. You’ll have him for a few days if we need to go.”
You nodded, and he kissed your forehead and started to leave the room. “Dean?”
“Yeah, sweetheart?”
You bit your bottom lip. “Can you- Can you mail this for me?”
You held up the envelope, and he took it. He glanced at who it was being mailed to, and smiled. “Yeah, sweetheart. I’ll do that for you.”
“Thanks Dean.”
You watched him leave the kitchen, and then you glanced out the back into the yard. Sighing after a moment, you got up, and started unpacking again. When they had asked you to come home, they had meant it. So much so, that the three of them got you a home. A home for you and your daughter, and a home for the boys to come home to.
It was all John had ever wanted for his kids.
A place to call home.
