For not being an isekai mdzs sure did fuck me up over mo xuanyu like. If they don't hate his guts people simply just don't care about him, though honestly I wouldn't even say anyone hates him they just think he's disgusting because of rumors and lies but no one actually knows enough about him to hate him. People call him a lunatic who fell in love with his brother but is that actually true? Who knows! Not me! Not anyone! The most positive feeling anyone could have about him is gratitude for bringing wei wuxian back but he didn't do it for wwx, he expected him to be evil and slaughter everyone in his path because mxy was so beaten down and angry that he just wanted everyone dead. And it's so fucked up that everyone in this novel knows wwx is back because someone had to kill himself and in the process destroy their own soul completely and no one fucking cares. wwx died and multiple people fell apart. xue yang caused xiao xingchen to kill himself and then desperately tried to put him back together. nie huaisang orchestrated everything to get revenge for his brother. But no one heard of mo xuanyu's death and mourned. He's just a body to be worn.
