Anyway with the new knowledge that Shang Qinghua (whose og name was Xiang Fei if you haven't read the new extras yet) was 1) handsome in a "melodramatic teen novel" way and 2) went to the same university as Shen Yuan I KNOW these two would have had a dog blood bl romance. Just imagine all the crazy rich/poor romantic dramas out there and that's what modern no transmigration Cucumberplane would have been. Shen Yuan would have hit Xiang Fei with his car and taken him to the hospital then upon finding out that they went to the same school and XF was poor he would have become XF's sugar daddy or something but he'd still be in denial about being gay, meanwhile XF is like yeah I'm in love with him but I know this is a transactional relationship and he'll kick me to the curb one day haha. They probably break up like five times and that's even before they find out that XF is Airplane and SY is Peerless Cucumber

For not being an isekai mdzs sure did fuck me up over mo xuanyu like. If they don't hate his guts people simply just don't care about him, though honestly I wouldn't even say anyone hates him they just think he's disgusting because of rumors and lies but no one actually knows enough about him to hate him. People call him a lunatic who fell in love with his brother but is that actually true? Who knows! Not me! Not anyone! The most positive feeling anyone could have about him is gratitude for bringing wei wuxian back but he didn't do it for wwx, he expected him to be evil and slaughter everyone in his path because mxy was so beaten down and angry that he just wanted everyone dead. And it's so fucked up that everyone in this novel knows wwx is back because someone had to kill himself and in the process destroy their own soul completely and no one fucking cares. wwx died and multiple people fell apart. xue yang caused xiao xingchen to kill himself and then desperately tried to put him back together. nie huaisang orchestrated everything to get revenge for his brother. But no one heard of mo xuanyu's death and mourned. He's just a body to be worn.

Shang Qinghua only acknowledges so many people in the North, but hearing it still feels like a hammer to his head. It's just--wrong. Like his best friend married his uncle. It practically is that! He has, in fact, made fun of Mobei-Jun's unfortunate crush for this exact reason! But he never wanted anything to actually come from it!

Plus, Luo Binghe has had a lot riding on Shang Qinghua marrying Mu Qingfang ever since he became aware of the inter-realm betting ring and he refuses to let his own best friend be the reason why he goes into debt.

When he gets home, he'll have to keep them far away from each other.

luo binghe and shang qinghua being friends is unlikely but if they were I think it’d be funny if lbh played into sqh’s “my son” thing. sometimes he calls mbj stepfather and in return sqh calls sqq son-in-law. said husbands are not nearly as amused

I haven't thought about mdzs in ages but for some reason I had a dream that jin guangyao and jiang cheng fell in love during the time wwx was dead but the events of mdzs still happened and jgy still died and at the end jc just continued to say nothing about their relationship to anyone and mourned alone
