Spock, writing in his journal: Yesterday, I had to write a... revealing report to Starfleet
Spock: After many months of deliberation, I have decided that I cannot ignore my growing affection for the Captain, and gave them an official notice that I would be pursuing him romantically as to avoid bureaucratic strife
Spock: The captain might have been a bit surprised when he read it, but protocol is protocol
Bones: You think you are smarter than everyone else.
Spock: I don't think I'm smarter than everyone else. I know I am.
Spock, writing in his journal: This past week, Captain Kirk has been on a bizarre personal mission to encourage me to socialize with new crew members
Spock: When I inquired about his actions, he said he was trying to get me more friends
Spock: While a fascinating concept, I told the Captain the truth: he is the only friend I have ever needed
Spock: Much to my confusion, Jim ran off mumbling, his face getting red
Spock: However, he has since asked me to dinner, which I find a... pleasant result
... No comment 😳
Spock, writing in his journal: This past week, the Enterprise has been docked at Earth. Considering our relationship status, Captain Kirk decided it was opportune time to introduce me to his parents
Spock: The introduction was simple, friendly, and involved a bit too much physical touch
Spock: However, the most fascinating (and bewildering) part was when we attempted to take our leave
Spock: We stood to go but continued talking, so fervently so that it took nearly an hour to exit the door
Spock: Jim congratulated me on my "first Midwestern goodbye"
Spock: I fear the implications of him calling it my "first"
Spock, writing in his journal: Father warned me to be wary of the allure of human women. I assumed he was just projecting his own attraction to my mother onto me. It was a logical, but unfounded, warning that I didn't feel needed heeding
Spock: He did not properly warn me about human men, however
Spock, writing in his journal: During our officer's meeting, the entire conversation got derailed by McCoy bragging about getting a shipment or "real, genuine" Georgia peaches
Spock: And that he would not be sharing them
Spock: Somehow, this led to Captain Kirk bragging about Iowa, his home state, being the third in the United States to legalize gay marriage
Spock: Then he winked at me
Spock: I did not expect a human proposal to be so... underwhelming, but I will go to his quarters this evening to accept it
