It's always fun when an author claims their work contains no politics, because either they're blatantly lying, or they genuinely think they're telling the truth and you get a lot of insight into what assertions about human nature they regard as so obviously and self-evidently true as to lie outside the political sphere.
I feel like some people are very protective of saying "I love you", treating it like some magical words, I've even read people say they consider it a red flag if someone says it before ~6 months of dating which is insane to me. How can you kiss someone regularly without wanting to tell them you love them? "I love you" isn't a promise that I will love you forever, but I love you today and I think that's what matters.
you just don't get shit like this with 8-episode streaming seasons
Nothing in the rule book says a dog can't play basketball. There are a couple rules against trans women, however, so she'll have to leave.
Just want to shout out that:
The dog and the woman are the same individual
The referee is an self-declared ally but he is sworn to uphold the rules of the game. This fate is totally avoidable would he only stand by his values and revolt even in a small way instead of working to support a system working as intended.
It is that deep*

i do actually think it's crazy that employers get a say over shit like tattoos and piercings and we just let that happen
When everything in your life is going wrong at the same time like the world is fucking with you in particular and then you remember like ohhhh yeah right it’s because the Eugenic Machinery that is the world is designed to negatively select people like me for the sake of biopolitically managing capital’s pool of labor-power
it's so crazy too bc i'll be like "this phrase/practice is being touted as ancient knowledge with a secret unbroken lineage, but it was quite literally made up in the 20th century. like we can trace it back to its very inception in like 1961." and someone will be like "that can't be true because my grandmother taught it to me." and i'm like yes your grandmother was 20 in 1961.
The key to understanding history and geopolitics is to remember: just because one side is bad, doesn't mean the other side is good
Just because an official narrative is suspect doesn’t mean the most popular counter narrative is automatically true
No shame in using the safeword (quitting a fic that doesnt do it)
in re conversations that thankfully seem to be occurring only on other sites, i actually love when the fiction i'm reading uses words i don't know and have to look up! admittedly it does not happen often, because i am an adult who read a lot as a kid and has since done what is frankly maybe a bit too much education, but please do casually drop words like phalanstery in your book so i have to look it up and then find myself reading wikipedia pages about 19th century socialist utopianism! please do throw around rare plants and birds whose names i don't know because they're not native/common anywhere i've ever been! then i get to look at pictures of things that i've never seen before!
In the end, we're all alone and no one's coming to save you.
