the boredom felt almost eternal. was there ever a time when she hadn’t felt this way? believe it or not, there was, and it wasn’t all too long ago. the only thing that had brought forth such suffering had been the beginning of yet another pointless shift at mcdonald’s. working the cash register was easy enough for most, though not for someone of jihyo’s caliber.
it wasn’t that she didn’t enjoy the interaction; most of the time it was actually fun to greet everyone before taking their orders and money. everyone was welcomed with an award winning smile, something that she hoped would bring them back for more. a compliment towards customers could go a long way, and it was usually easy to find at least one way to compliment someone.
no, her boredom stemmed from the fact that she wasn’t able to put this time to better use. she’d much rather be home, practicing her vocals or dancing, and yet... she was here, taking orders at a job that she didn’t even want in the first place. the reasoning behind why she needed a job in the first place was lost on her, though her dad didn’t seem to care. all there was left to do was wait around until something interesting comes along.
