after helping her out and navigating her to the next gas station and her checking up on him after the second batch of kt rookies being announced, gray had talked to momo during training more often. it was as if they had grown a little closer. maybe even a more than just a little, since he had surprisingly received a birthday gift from the female which he had appreciated a lot. he didn't quite knew if he deserved her friendliness, since he assumed that every other trainee would have helped her out during that time and it had been just a natural act of kindness, not worth mentioning. but nonetheless he wanted to show her how much he appreciated her and the bond they have built in the last months. gray had always liked to include his friends into his songs, every single one of them were really blessed and talented after all.

which was why he came up to momo during a short break, a smile on his lips and a sheet of song lyrics in his hand. "hello, momo. may i borrow you for a second?" he asked and stepped aside, to not bother other trainees in the practice room. "i wanted to ask, if you were interested to work on a song with me? i really like your singing and wanted you lend one of my songs your voice since it would fit the melody quite well." the rapper handed her the paper sheet to have her read through the lines she would cover. The boy's past was like a ghost, always seeming to haunt him. Of course, the only difference was that it was actually real... too real. He often wished he had the ability to erase it, though such a power didn't exist. Sometimes, he's able to tell himself that he wouldn't even if he could; that the memories are worth the aching pain that comes along with it. Most of the time, however, he thinks that's utter bullshit. Especially now, as he notices a girl from the corner of his eye who resembles his little bird just a bit too much.

In a daze, he's unable to watch where he's going and ends up bumping into a different girl with more strength than he would have liked. Then again, he would have liked for it to not have happened at all. He's still recovering from the pang in his chest and the turning of his stomach as he processes what he's done, a quiet "sorry" mumbled from chapped lips as he instinctively bends down to pick up whatever he made fall from the stranger's hands.

you have got to be kidding me. 

it feels like he’s being taunted. the whole experience is like one of those headaches that don’t go away for hours. it’s existence is small, but to won, it’s perseverance is like a power drill to his patience. soft footsteps follow close behind his heavy footfalls as he silently curses himself for leaving his skateboard at home. (though he supposes with his luck, it’d have made no difference. the fucking thing would’ve just ran along behind him.) 

what feels like the hundredth meow reaches his ears and he groans, running tense fingers through slightly greasy hair. he’s ready to start pulling out chunks if the four-legged nuisance doesn’t lose interest in him soon. after all, he has no idea how to scare off a cat beyond waving his arms and whining for it to leave. he hates cats; why would he know anything about them? he hopes it doesn’t follow him all the way back to the house— oh god. as if being there isn’t shitty enough already... fucking hell.

the boredom felt almost eternal. was there ever a time when she hadn’t felt this way? believe it or not, there was, and it wasn’t all too long ago. the only thing that had brought forth such suffering had been the beginning of yet another pointless shift at mcdonald’s. working the cash register was easy enough for most, though not for someone of jihyo’s caliber.

it wasn’t that she didn’t enjoy the interaction; most of the time it was actually fun to greet everyone before taking their orders and money. everyone was welcomed with an award winning smile, something that she hoped would bring them back for more. a compliment towards customers could go a long way, and it was usually easy to find at least one way to compliment someone.

no, her boredom stemmed from the fact that she wasn’t able to put this time to better use. she’d much rather be home, practicing her vocals or dancing, and yet... she was here, taking orders at a job that she didn’t even want in the first place. the reasoning behind why she needed a job in the first place was lost on her, though her dad didn’t seem to care. all there was left to do was wait around until something interesting comes along.

it had been far too long since she’d last purchased a new video game. there was no sort of special occasion that led her to buy a new one now, though that hardly mattered. what better reason was there to buy a game than simply wanting it? and so she walks along, eyeing each and every game that crosses her path. there’s a pleasant variety as usual, which makes it a bit difficult to find what she’s looking for.

especially when she has no idea what she’s looking for. she hadn’t arrived today with a certain game in mind, oh no; she’d decided that she could make up her mind once she’d arrived. it was evident now that it may not have been the best choice, though it was the one she had made nonetheless. maybe she was staring a bit too intently at the row of games in front of her, as she soon finds herself bumping into another customer. whoops. “oh! sorry, sorry—i didn’t see you there!” more like i wasn’t looking where i was going. “there’s just... so many,” she continues with a slightly embarrassed chuckle. “it’s tough to focus on much of anything other than them. and it’s especially tough to figure out which one i actually want.”
