Index Season 3 was great.  Almost every aspect of the show lead to that. Wasn’t the greatest season objectively, had some poor pacing moments, particularly the Battle Royale and Acqua of the Back arcs in my view, but still a great watch over all.

I shall miss this show.

QCQ – Concrete Blonde: A Probe into Negative Space where Mysteries are Created

QUOTE – “The modern era is characterized by the impossibility of knowing the world through representation, that representation has become entirely self-referential, with its own history and laws, and is not related to the world we experience at all.” – Michel Foucault

 Comment – According to Michel Foucault, a French Philosopher and Social Theorist, in the previous paragraph, Representation is losing its power to be defined as being common to objects and knowledge. It’s a lot to interpret, with the quote above. When interpreting art and architecture. We use our own experiences to understand what we see in front of us. A mystery is created by our own sense of reality instead of the piece’s own actual history and intention. When looking at architecture, most people may just see the design and think they’re pretty and that is their own way of interpreting it, on a surface level. Others who studied art history, art and architecture in any way may consider the intention of use of space and design. However, this is the outsider’s “representation” and not the true representation of what the original artist intended which may be similar or wildly different.

 Question – What do you, as an artist, believe how your life experiences may affect how you view or interpret “representation” in art/sculpture/architecture that isn’t your own?
