what if your best friend forever who you thought would always be there for you vanished one day without saying anything and you had to find out from her Mom that she left. with a Pirate no less.

and you find her suddenly, after seeing her wanted posters everywhere and she lies that shes still with the navy (you know all of her tells when shes lying. shes not good at lying to you either). shes in completely new clothes and when she talks about her crew she has a look on her face that was only ever directed towards You

you ask to see her again and she says no. you see her a few weeks later and you have to fight her. she lands on your ship with magical wings that youve never seen before either. and she tells you that shes going into the black sea. you say its a bad idea and she nods. but you can see that she wont be persuaded against it. you have to remain strictly professional because all eyes from your crew are on you and youre already under suspicion because everyone knows that was your best friend. you ask her to stay safe and she says she'll try, and that she'll see you later.

you hear that shes on the raft base with you later, when pirates suddenly attack after a loud declaration. you catch a glimpse of her diving through the sky, meteors streaking through the sky around her. her magic wings let her swoop effortlessly through. you remember how she used to run with her arms spread wide to pretend she could fly.

you dont know if she survives.

maybe later you hear about how she turned down an offer to be a vice admiral. it had always been your plan to change raft together. and now you have no idea if your (former) best friend is alive or the state shes in. what do you even do? you want to help people, but is she right? is her way of help the best one?

"Toss of the Waves" a thing created by chance, there one moment and then gone the next. Capricious and directed solely by the wind. Impossible to keep, something adrift from all you ever came from. Because you could never be what you are without the weight of your history, but that definition will never quite sit right. You are not the waves, you are their evidence, something that falls with a crash and leaves no trace.

I'm just ...thinking about Megatronous' literal story in Aligned (I refuse to consider 2015 as an actual continuation) and IDW, and how he was treated. Like, my dude was ostracized from the onset because he was "too like Unicron." He was created as the direct opposite Prima because shit needs to be balanced.

He was not perfect, and he knew this. He threw his all to defeat Unicron with the rest of the Thirteen in order to protect Cybertron- after requesting a commission from Solus for the requiem blaster. He threw his all into the fight, and along with the rest of the others- was able to make the Unmaker retreat.

Despite his strength, he was also haunted by feelings of insecurity and unwantedness. This was compounded by the fact that he was avoided by the rest of the Primes with the exception of Solus, Micronus, Onyx, and Liege. It's no great secret that he and Solus had a love affair that would become the stuff of legends, but it feels like that has somewhat been wiped out in order to continue the narrative of Megatronous as nothing more than a power-hungry villain.

Without understanding how he got there.

We find out that Onyx Prime was literally there to dupe him into his plans and make the other follow along with his machinations. That, compounded with Liege's twisting words- it's no wonder that the Prime's feelings of insecurity grew when the only basis and anchors he had was Micronus and Solus.

The murder of Solus wasn't premeditated, with the death itself accidental. It affected him so much that he banished himself voluntarily and dubbed himself the Fallen.

Even Alpha Trion and Nexus Prime seem eager to continue the narrative of a vicious, evil figure- rather than the saga of a mechanism that was literally pushed to the brink by the treatment from the others that were supposed to help watch out for him.

And the loss of a love so powerful that it shattered his spark.

It's a very, very interesting Lucifer dynamic- with the added love story.

I haven’t written anything for Babe yet, so let’s go for it! This is literally just two idiots in love, so enjoy.

To say you were cold was the understatement of the century. You weren’t cold — no, you were freezing. It was just a dry cold either. It was a cold that seeped into your bones, slowing your blood down and making you shiver from the inside out.

The snow had made your gloves wet, and following what your mother had always said, you took them off and put them close to the fire you had built outside of your foxhole so they could dry. Meanwhile, you held your hands close to it, seeing how the tips of your fingers had started to pale.

Babe wasn’t having any of that.

You and Babe had exchanged some words about liking each other back in Aldbourne but you were both a bit too drunk to actually act upon it. It didn’t mean you both forgot about it — there were those little glances, the smiles from across the room, the laughs that always indicated that you both still cared.

“Y/N?” Babe asked, jumping down into the foxhole behind you. He moved over to your side. “Why aren’t you wearing your gloves?”

“Gloves got wet, so my hands got wet. I don’t wanna freeze, so, I figured, fire.”

“Your hands look so cold.”

“That’s why I’m holding them next to the fire.”

“Let me take a look, this looks pretty serious, actually.”

You sigh and let Babe take a look at your hands. After ‘examining’ your fingers, he intertwined his with yours.

“Well, Y/N, it appears you have a very serious case of ‘youshouldholdbabe’shanditis’,” Babe says, looking back up from your hands. “Do you want to know the treatment?”

“Yes, of course I do,” You tell him. Babe was goofy, and you loved it. It warmed your heart despite the freezing weather around you.

“Your prescription is the need to hold my hand for the rest of the day, especially once your gloves warm up.”

“Babe, you’re such an idiot,” You tell him, placing your forehead against his.

“Hey, I have a doctorate!”

“Oh yeah? In what.”

“Loving you, of course,” Babe says before placing a kiss to your lips. It’s softer than you expected, especially with the cold.

“You love me, Babe Heffron?” You ask, pulling away. The two of you hadn’t really talked about what you were. Ever. Sure, you did love him, but you had never said it before. “Are you sure?”

“Of course I’m sure, Y/N. I might be an idiot sometimes, but I’m damn sure of that,” He says. “Why? Do you not love me?”

You shake your head. “Babe, I love you, so much. I cannot even begin to physically describe how much I love you.”

“Good, ‘cause I feel the exact same.”

You kiss him, this time. You smile the whole way into it. He nibbles a little bit on your lip and you gasp, making him pull away.

“Oh, God, sorry,” Babe immediately apologized. “Are you okay? Was that okay?”

“For someone with a doctorate in loving me, you sure do apologize a lot,” You reply.

“So that was okay?”

“Yes, Babe, it was more than okay.”

“Okay,” He says. “I haven’t really done anything like that before.”

“It’s okay, neither have I.”

“You haven’t?”

“No.”

Babe smiles at that, reassured of himself. But, as he goes in to kiss you again, he stops and sniffs.

“What’s that?” He asks, looking around. His eyes land on the fire. “Hey, Y/N?”

“Yeah?”

“Your gloves are on fire.”

“Shit!”

Like, everyone out side of the losers thinks they hate each other and they’re lowkey oblivious but hella protective?????

Like, Stan will be bichin to someone about how annoying Richie is and how glad he would be if he just fuckin died but then the other persons like, yeah he’s annoying, and stanny loses his shit (“-and he can’t ever shut his goddamn mouth!” “Yeah i think he’s a bit obnoxious” “exCUSE ME WHAT THE FUC-”)

As much as my boys want to throttle each other in public (“Richie if you so much as look at me I’ll shove my foot so far up your ass” “kinky”)

They just can’t help but be the softest purest boyfriends when they’re alone or just hanging with the losers

Like they’ll be chillin in bills basment and richie will be sittin on the floor with stans head in his lap, just racking his hands through stans curls

Or a group gathering at bev’s aunts place when she leaves for the weekend and Stan will have Richie sprawled out across his lap like a lanky blanket

Or movie night at mikes and the two of them are cuddling in the loveseat

Or study session that don’t always end up with makeing out but sometimes just them being all demestic and cute

Even though everyone lowkey thought they would have a toxic relationship they actually turn out to be really good for each other

Like Richie is real understanding and characteristically patient with Stan when he has to turn the lights on and off a certain amount of times until they leave his house or when he has to wash his hands in a specific order before leaving the bathroom

He’s also unexpectedly really good at dealing with stans panic attacks and helping him regulate his breathing or helping him when he gets stuck in loops because he “just can’t open the door the right way godDAMNIT”

Stans also good for Richie as much as Richie is for him

When Richie loses focus in class or just hangin about stans there to hold his hand and let him tap a rhythm into his hand or thigh instead on the table because that usually ends in detention

He’s always around to remind Richie to take his adderall or to do whatever it is he forgot wether that’s chores or studying or picking up bill from baseball practice because it’s raining and he promised (“you’re never p-picking m-m-me up ag-again, T-Tozier”)

Now my boys don’t have the absolute best 5 star quality home lives but luckily they have each other to count on 24/7

Like when Stans father is putting to much pressure on him to keep up his grades and still keep up his studies for temple nd still attend family dinners and he just cracks he knows all he has to do is call Richie even if it’s 3am (coz god only knows this boys sleep schedule is fucked) and he’ll be over in less that 10 minutes, climbing through stans window and cuddling his boy

Just like how Richie knows that if his parents decide to acknowledge him in their drunken states for the ‘wrong reasons’ he can show up at stans house and be welcomed by him n can have some of the secret stash of snacks Stan keeps hidden from his father under his bed

They’re just so stupidly and unbelievably whipped but it’s okay because they seem to be the only people that can handle each other :)
