A traditional Indian immunity booster drink, Kadha is packed with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties from ingredients like ginger, tulsi, and turmeric. It's an excellent remedy during cold and flu season.
Ingredients: 4 cups water. 1 inch ginger, grated. 5-6 cloves. 5-6 black peppercorns. 1 cinnamon stick. 4-5 tulsi holy basil leaves. 1 teaspoon turmeric powder. 1 teaspoon honey optional. 1 tablespoon lemon juice optional.
Instructions: In a saucepan, add water, grated ginger, cloves, black peppercorns, cinnamon stick, and tulsi leaves. Bring to a boil and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes until the water reduces to half. Add turmeric powder and continue simmering for another 5 minutes. Strain the mixture into cups. Add honey and lemon juice if desired. Stir well. Serve hot.
