Indian Americans!

Some Indian Americans are the most pretentious creatures you will ever come across. This isn't an assumption, it's backed by evidence. I have many cousins and family members who have been living in the US for years. When I see them with Americans, they're all sweet and bubbly but when they come to India, oh boy, they act like they have conquered the world and now Indians have to obey them else they will suffer their wrath lol. They put Indians down, treat them as inferiors, and purposely throw snide remarks knowing that Indians aren't going to fight back considering they have accepted their fate as inferiors :D They are ashamed of their own people and would often make fun of their country and people with Americans in an attempt to fit in. They find it embarrassing to show the not-so-royal side of India and you would often see them visiting forts and palaces in India especially when they bring their American friends with them. They won't visit normal places. They won't speak their language with Indians because they dislike being identified as Indians even in their wildest dreams.
I'm sure living out of your country for years changes people and I know they develop foreign accents as well which is totally fine. But coming to India and acting superior isn't gracious at all. Making fun of your people isn't cool at all. Belittling your own people doesn't make you look good.
I'm speaking purely from experience and I'm sorry if it offended anyone. These people, my family - they make me angry! I know how we all feel about them but we never speak up. We let it slide because it may come across as jealousy but hey, this isn't envy, its is standing up for yourself. If you feel its wrong, its wrong!
Has anybody experienced the same? I would love to know how you deal with such people.
