Podcast: Indie Beat Talks To ‘Tears Of God’ Director Robbie Hillyer Barnett
“The video was inspired by Guitarist/Vocalist Andrew Smith’s lyrics about walking through the desert and coming to terms with his divorce. The result was a five minute visual meditation made without any commercial video software. With a searching guitar-centric track full of stimulating cerebral reflections contrasted against longing and resonant vocals, the video has a very cinematic vibe with it's multiple textures that perfectly capture the essence of their infectious psych-rock sound. You can really sense the "imagery of twilight desolation" that the group set out to capture, describing it as a sonic aesthetic "that illicit long-winding roads, starlit desserts and bizarre group vocals sounding like something coming from a campfire from another dimension." - Josh Pineda Indie Beat
The single and it's video are an amazing showcase of this group's talent and vision. If you're as amazed as we are, read on to get inside these guys' minds in our exclusive interview.
