Dinosaur infused shoe-gaze indie rock from the heart of Brooklyn, NY. Tiiidal formed during the polar vortex of early 2014. In the years as a band, they’ve been honing their sound, recording and mixing all of their own material and playing shows around Brooklyn and the LES. Settling in somewhere between indie-pop, shoegaze cited influences range from Built to Spill to New Order, Fugazi to the Grateful Dead. After many hours of discussion, the name TIIIDAL was chosen through a win/lose game of band-name Russian Roulette. [ Tiiidal is composed of singer/guitarist Andrew Smith, singer/guitarist, Jordan Taylor, and multi-instrumentalist/singer, Nadeem Salaam. ] "The Brooklyn-based indie-gazers' music has a distinct, astral quality to it. Their new video for 'Apogees' features band members navigating their way through the soft, ethereal-sounding track while honey slowly oozes down the sides of their heads--a sticky visual that, however strangely, aesthetically compliments the song's meditations on space and time." THE DELI MAGAZINE "Need another exciting debut today? Enter Tiiidal. Yeah, like the Jay-Z thing with three “i’s”. Their first ever track “Meridian” is a melodic head trip; it finds the New York foursome channeling the psychedelic tendencies of indie troubadours like mewithoutyou and Built To Spill.“ ALL THINGS GO - May 26th, 2015 "Tiiidal is pretty much a brand new band on the diverse and competitive New York indie scene. The band started off, like most projects, as a hobby. During the past winter, the four spent a lot of time testing new sounds and recording music. One of the singles from those sessions is “Meridian”, Tiiidal’s debut single. The song is melodic shoegaze at its best. It’s a little hazy, a little dreamy, and completely infectious from the start. The dual guitar work and vocals of Smith and Taylor add another layer to the song. The track is somewhere between My Bloody Valentine and A Place to Bury Strangers. Tiiidal will be releasing more music in the coming months. We expect them to adopt the approach of one of our favorite bands, Misun, who started off releasing single after single before putting together an album. We wish Tiiidal the best of luck. Tiiidal’s “Meridian” can be found on the June 5th Edition of The Weekend Showcase, a weekly playlist of new music from around the globe.” The REVUE - June 5th, 2015

“Apogee, the point in a satellite's orbit where it is positioned furthest away from Earth. It makes sense that TIIIDAL would choose to explore this concept in their latest music video: often, the Brooklyn-based indie-gazers' music has a distinct, astral quality to it. Their new video features band members navigating their way through the soft, ethereal-sounding track while honey slowly oozes down the sides of their heads--a sticky visual that, however strangely, aesthetically compliments the song's meditations on space and time. Watch the Deli's premiere of "Apogees" streaming below, and keep your eyes peeled for the band's new EP .Wavz coming out later this year.- Olivia Sisinni THE DELI MAGAZINE
