First off, please forgive me and my LEGO babies if that we screwed this up completely (a not exactly unexpected outcome), but since we they had so much fun trying (and failing) to get this to work, we'll share the results anyway. Enjoy! 🍎
Well, I still have no idea about the story behind this apple trend, but when I first saw some fanart I thought that it would just not work with my little LEGO babies, because showing flat minifigure heads in profile? Not exactly the best way to present any individual features, right? So I initially dismissed the idea until I got my hands on this cute little very old LEGO tile (#3068pb0050 from 1979)...
... and thought WTF? Let's give it a try, even if this will be pure crack and silliness!
Cue to me setting up this apple tile and inviting the Ineffable LEGO husbands to get into position in front of it.
Me: "Could you please just face each other in front of this...?"
Aziraphale: "Oh, how exciting!" *dragging Crowley in front of the yellow wall, holding both his hands, and grinning manically*
Crowley: "Ngk."
Obviously they were too busy holding hands and staring into each other's eyes to even notice my desperate attempts to find any camera angle to make this work. Yeah, you guessed it, an apple printed on a 2x2 tile is way too small for this, no matter what you do!
Not ready to give up completely, I set up a very small real apple instead to see how that works...
Well, definitely still not the right perspective/angle, right?
Me: "Okay, guys, that's a nice shot, but not really what we're aiming for to get that apple trend perspective. Could you please step apart a bit?" *starting to pry these two apart*
Aziraphale: "Noooo! We were having fun here!"
Crowley: *making inarticulate noises that could mean anything*
Me: *taking this shot and feeling like a monster for separating them* "Hmmm, obviously I'd have to put you miles away from the apple to get the ratio right, so this is probably the closest we'll get to have your profiles cutting a certain shape...
Ahem, guys, what are you...?
This is not...
You know what... Fuck this. I give up!"

At which point the photographer (me) quietly stole the apple, left the scene, and called it a (very successful) day.

For our three month anniversary, @ineffablerainstorm and I visited a cat cafe, meandered all through the gay part of town, and got complementary GO-adjacent themed tattoos! (And we’ve been planning these since loooong before the dating, so don’t worry about that!!)

The Arabian sand boa is actually really frustrating to draw because I feel like no matter how hard I try I can't make it look as ridiculous as the real thing.
Snake Fact: Hognoses flatten their heads when they're threatened to make themselves look scary and cobra-ish. But it just makes them look fucking adorable. They will also sometimes shit themselves when playing dead to REALLY sell it.
I binged Snake Discovery on Youtube way back at the beginning of the pandemic and it shows.
