As promised, part two for how to make origami Christmas trees. And I'm only a day late 😂
This is the Tapas restaurant in Paris, but I like some of their inexpensive ideas for decor. The large table is a DIY, and if you look closely, you’ll notice that they cut a hole in the middle for the tree and made a holder for the pot underneath.
The entrance to another dining area looks like it was made from an old armoire or DIY construction.
Here’s another unusual door, an orange tree, and crates on the wall.
Nothing fancy, mostly self-constructed, but it’s cute and clever. I like the simplicity of the lighting, too.
Wire baskets of fruits and vegetables hang on the walls. I also like the little marble-top bistro tables with Victorian iron bases.

Angela and her family have been in their Victorian home for a yr., and she’s been busily perking it up w/bold color. Here in the living room, she’s done a purple theme.
This is what the dining room looked like when they first moved in.
And, here it is now, with new orange wallpaper and bright aqua chairs.
She gave the kitchen a salmon half wall and island.
I like the color of the master.

Photographer Debi Treolar’s home is a superb example of how to decorate flea market style. Her rooms are very large, yet this shows that you don’t have to be rich to fill them with lovely, colorful furnishings.

Adam & Cami moved to their 1,000 sq. ft. apt. in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn, New York City from London. They charmingly furnished their apt. with mostly Craigslist finds.
They didn’t want mass-produced cheap new stuff, they wanted quality, unique pieces.
Without 1,000′s of dollars to spend, they managed to furnish their whole apt. in 4 mos., and made it charming.
Whatever this is, I like it.

And, they didn’t want a mattress-on-floor bedroom. This apt. is lovely, and done on a budget.

A lot of followers comment that they don’t have the money to decorate. Well, here’s some inspiration, b/c I keep emphasizing that you don’t need a lot of money. This is the totally thrifted, 3 room apt. of Mariana (36) & Guille (33).
It’s really cute and colorful. The sofa cushions don’t have to match- they just have to be comfy.
All of their furniture is either hand-me-down, found, or bought in a thrift shop. It makes the apt. interesting. Designers don’t do matchy-matchy, anymore, either.
This is their Memory Wall- it has books, pictures, & anything that holds a place in their hearts. Isn’t that a sweet idea? I love the antlers. (Oh, and if you give them a gift and find it on the wall, you’re really special to them.)
The kitchen set matches, but the cushions don’t. Love that.
The office area in the bedroom has a vintage metal desk and an old dentist’s cabinet for a chest of drawers. This apt. is fun and sweet. Plus, it was collected over time, b/c they’re lived here 8 yrs.
