I'm the first two stages, the infected area can be amputated to prevent further infection if it's a limb as Mal won't typically attack the neck or chest, but it's possible, so stay aware of that

it can affect both mechanical and organic beings, so yes unfortunately

Mal doesn't lash out often so it's a lower risk but dangerous nonetheless
