So these are the common contributors the new Black Infinite Combo. Mostly Starscape/Blight-Priest/Tenacity/Conqueror but there's plenty of ways to gain life. And apparently, Standard is stuck with it for at least five years. And don't tell me you haven't seen it, Foundations has barely been out and I've seen at least a dozen times already.
{3}{B}{B} • Creature — Horse • 4/4 • Trample Black Carriage doesn't untap during your untap step. Sacrifice a creature: Untap Black Carriage
Black carriage has a 2 card infinite combo. If you enchant black carriage with elemental mastery than on your upkeep you can tap black carriage to create at least 4 elemental tokens then immediately savrifice one of the tokens to black carriage. Black carriage will untap and you can tap it again to produce more tokens and repeat. This combo will leave you with infinite hasty 1/1 creatures. You can win the game on turn 6 with just these two cards! That is not nothing! Personally, I think all reserved list cards that have two card infinite combos should be worth something. I am surprised that black carriage is currently a bulk card considering you can throw it into any rakdos deck and have a potential win condition. As a result, I think this card will one day spike. Eventually, they will make other infinite combos with this card and one of them actually might be viable. What if one day this card is involved in a legacy or vintage combo deck? Stranger things have happened. Black carriage does have other infinite combos but with the exception of its synergy with elemental mastery the other combos require too many other cards and pieces. If you are already running the other combo pieces than you might want to play black carriage. It is a brick without the combo but you can do worse. At least it's a free sacrifice engine although I wish it was not limited to your upkeep. That is the main reason why this card isn't appearing in more decks. You telegraph the infinite because you must leave elemental mastery and black carriage on the field for on turn. Yes, you can protect the combo but aren't there combos that win the game immediately? I actually have this card in my 5 color infinite combo deck. It uses every 2 card infinite combo without any tutors so I basically play all these useless cards in the hopes I find the other half of some combo before I lose. This card would also not be out of place in commander decks built around juri master of the revue or morophon the boundless. Black carriage is also a horse so horse decks can use this card because it's options are currently a little limited. I thought horses were finally going to have their day in thunder junction with the release of the saddle mechanic but perhaps in the future. I will not that if black carriage was printed today it would not be a creature. It would be a vehicle as that is what is a carriage is. However, the horses are pulling the carriage so that is the creature being depicted in the art. Do you think that vehicles should also be creatures? Is a horse both a creature and a vehicle? Should all horses have saddle? Let me know! Apparently, this card was also in the lore. Black carriage was the primary means of transportation for Baron Sengir pulled by 4 black horses. These horses can sweat fire and blood and also get to eat people as a reward so kind of metal. Black carriage has never spiked with the exception of spring 2021 in the Great reserved list spike. Black carriage is still waiting for the right cards to come around to really find its footing. Should black carriage be involved in more 2 card infinites than I can not see this card staying below a dollar. I would have 4 copies in my collection just for the elemental mastery combo alone.
Dank-Jank Combos: Bounty of the Keen-Eyed
After a long, long hiatus from the platform, I thought my first “I’m BACK!” post should be nothing short of spectacular! So here’s my newest infinite mana combo... In mono-green.
The Pieces
The Combo
Let’s break it down! (with mana count at the end of each step to help you keep track) Start with Nylea, Keen-Eyed on the field with Karametra’s Acolyte and Temur Sabertooth. 1) Tap the Acolyte for four green mana. (4 green mana) 2) Use two of the green mana to cast a Hyrax Tower Scout at reduced cost from Nylea’s static ability. On etb, target and untap the Acolyte. (2 green mana) 3) Tap the Acolyte for five green mana. (7 green mana) 4) Using two of the green mana, activate Temur Sabertooth, bouncing the Scout back to hand. (5 green mana) 5) Using two more green mana, recast the Scout, targeting Acolyte on etb. (3 green mana) 6) Tap the Acolyte for five green mana. (8 green mana) 7) Use four green mana to bounce and replay the Hyrax Tower Scout, untapping the Acolyte. (4 green mana)
If you’re keeping track, each looping of the Hyrax Tower Scout and tapping/untapping Karametra’s Acolyte will net us one green mana. With this, we can use Nylea, Keen-Eyed’s ability to filter thru our deck for the creatures we want and cast them.
With enough excess mana, you can cast and bounce a Craterhoof an excessive amount of times-...
... -or destroy all your opponents’ noncreature permanents. The choices are yours!
So, I've been looking for a token generator that by itself goes infinite with Ashnod's Altar for a Blood Artist combo for my Teysa, Orzhov Scion EDH deck. I found what I was looking for in an unlikely place: the Blind Eternities.
Spawnsire of Ulamog...
This card is mostly known for jank decks that try to just drop a pile of powerhouse eldrazi on the field for 20 mana. Its 2nd ability is usually completely overlooked. 4 mana to create 2 tokens which can each be sacrificed for 2 colorless mana using Ashnod's Altar. This combo is also colorless, so it could theoretically go into any deck that can generate the initial 14 mana (or keep 7 creatures on the board for Ashnod's Altar) and pay off from infinite ETB or death triggers.
Drop an Ashnod's Altar and sac a total of 7 goblins in Krenko EDH for infinite Impact Tremors/Purphoros triggers. Or have it for infinite death triggers for Aristocrats, Golgari sacrifice deck, etc.
you can do this for as long as you like. eventually, you get 10000 points for each badnik, and you get extra lives every 50000 points
i think i discovered a fun combo for infinite Hapatra triggers
