Safe and Sound
Peter Parker/Spider-Man X Fem!Reader
A/N: Note that I have NOT seen Infinity War yet, so certain details may be wrong, but then again this is a fanfic, so the details about that depressing film don’t necessarily apply anyway. Nevertheless, enjoy! - Nemo
Song: ‘Safe and Sound’ by Taylor Swift
Warning: Spoilers! for Infinity War, and also super Angsty at the start. It gets better. Promise.
Summary: Peter died during the event known as Infinity War. You kept hearing his voice, but brushed it off thinking it was just another of the effect of your hard-fought battle. However, during a strange interaction with a stranger called Wong, you find that your powers come directly for the Soul Stone itself. Maybe you could fix things. Maybe you could bring Peter back.
Masterlist
Peter wasn’t sure what happened, neither did you; it all went so fast.
One minuet you and he were fighting side-by-side fighting against one of your most formidable foes, the next he was crumbling to ashes in Stark’s hands.
You could hear him apologising to you, then Stark. You knew he viewed the billionaire as a - somewhat - father-figure, so you understood that it was a bittersweet tragedy that he died in Stark's arms.
Soon after, there was only you and Stark left. You didn’t even know who other of the Avengers were alive still.
You refused to believe Peter was gone, you sensed that at lest three of your four other family members had died too, so you practically started groveling on the ground; trying in vain to piece back together what were the remnants of Peter Parker and your shattered heart.
“He can’t be gone! He can’t be!”
Stark had to hold your sobbing mess of a body back as he too came to terms with the losses you just gained.
The future seemed dim.
Dad
Tony Stark x Daughter!Reader, Steve Rogers x Reader(platonic)
Request: Hi! Can you please write an imagine where the reader is Tony's daughter but he finds out around the same time he finds Peter. They end up not being very close and she considers Steve to be more like her dad, but when Thanos snaps his fingers, she goes into the soul world and Tony gets really upset when he finds out. Sorry if it's confusing...
Warnings: sorry folks it’s angsty, death, Infinity War spoilers, there’s some fluff
Y/N was used to being alone. It was something she often enjoyed, the quiet and peace. No one to interrupt a good mood or a blissful daydream.
Until she met her dad.
Y/N had been living by herself for a while. She jumped foster home to foster home, until he found her. Tony Stark. Her biological father, apparently. At first Y/N was thrilled. She could see her and her father together, doing whatever fathers and daughters did.
But... they didn’t. The man was too busy for a kid. Around the same time his fascination with a superhero in Queens, the “Spider-Man”, grew. Y/N found herself shipped off to live at the Avengers Compound with a kiss on the cheek and a pat on the back. So she sat on the concrete steps outside, earbuds in her ears and lost in her thoughts.
Steve Rogers was about to come in from a run when he noticed the teen sitting, chin in her palms and tapping her foot to music. He approached the girl who looked up, quickly taking the earbuds out.
“You’d be Stark’s kid, right? Y/N?” He sat down next to her.
She nodded, giving him a small wave. “Yup. And you must be Captain America.”
Steve let out a huff of laughter. “Steve.”
“Sorry, you don’t have to sit next to me. I’m fine, I’m just kinda... hanging out? Unless you want to sit with me I’m not telling you to go away—sorry, I’m rambling, I’m very sorry.”
“Hey, don’t apologize! It’s alright.” Steve smiled, Y/N smiling back. “I could show you around the compound?”
Y/N grinned. “I’d like that.”
From then on Y/N and Steve’s relationship grew. He was a father figure to her-no-he was a father to her. He gave her advice, let her cry on his shoulder. When Christmas came around, while Tony was downstairs tinkering endlessly in his lab, Steve and Y/N were making gingerbread houses. Everything was great.
Until Lagos and the Accords. A wedge was driven between Tony and Steve. Y/N found herself agreeing with Steve on the unfairness and discrimination of the Accords, but Y/N was a minor and wasn’t an Avenger.
After their fight in Siberia, the two men separated. The Avengers had fallen apart, half of them criminals.
Then Tony was more focused on Peter. He treated him like he was his kid, his priority, his own, it disgusted Y/N. So what she wasn’t insanely smart and was a girl? She was what he got, didn’t he want her? What was so wrong with her that her own father didn’t want her?
Y/N was sitting on her bed doing homework when Natasha crept into her room. The girl grinned, jumping up and hugging the redhead.
“We have to go.” Natasha whispered. “We’re going with Steve and Sam. We’re not leaving you here.”
“But Nat, my dad, he will find me. He can hack into cameras, anything-“
Natasha helped Y/N pack a duffel full of necessities. “It won’t happen. I promise.”
Y/N nodded. “Get me out of here.”
They two met up with Steve and Sam outside the city. Later that same night in a hotel bathroom, Y/N and Natasha dyed their hair. Nat’s hair was bright bleached blonde and cut. She helped Y/N cut her hair into a short pixie-esque haircut and dye her hair. Y/N found a pair of glass lense glasses for her to wear to block any facial recognition.
For two years, Y/N traveled with the three fugitives. She knew her father was searching for her, it was all over the news. But Y/N had Steve, she was happy.
Then Bruce called. Tony went missing. Y/N was in the pilot seat of the quinjet as they rescued Wanda and Vision in Scotland. Steve helped Vision stagger into the ship, Sam, Natasha, and Wanda close behind. The Sokovian ran over and hugged Y/N, who flew them to Wakanda at Steve’s request.
There Thanos’s army attack. Y/N fought alongside Steve as they attempted to eradicate the threat against Earth. The two then went to Vision’s aide, fighting Corvus, the weird looking alien. Y/N and Vision had been knocked to to side and the alien was about to attack Steve until Y/N thrust Corvus’s own spear through the alien, killing him. Vision helped Steve up, and the other Avengers converged on their location.
Then Thanos arrived. Y/N had never felt true fear like she did in that moment. Each Avenger one by one attempted to hold him back, Steve grabbing the gauntlet with his bare hands, shouting out in an effort to stop the mad titan. Thanos punched him in the head, sending Steve falling to the ground.
“No!” Y/N shouted, running over to Steve but was held back by Thanos grabbing her and throwing her into a tree. Y/N blacked out and when she came to, Thor had stabbed Thanos. Steve whispered her name, helping her up.
Suddenly there was a bright flash and everything was eerily quiet. Thanos teleported away, leaving everyone confused. Steve turned to Thor. “Where did he go?”
“Steve?” Bucky questioned, Y/N letting out a shriek when he fell to the ground, crumpling to dust. Steve staggered over to where his best friend once stood, hurt and confused.
One by one, people began fading away. Y/N choked on her own tears, her head spinning. Suddenly she felt a pressure build up in her head. Y/N looked down and screamed when she saw her hands turning to dust. Steve ran over, pulling the hysterical girl into his chest, bracing the back of her head with a shaking hand. She let out a soft whimper before she faded into dust. “Dad?”
Y/N opened her eyes, seeing an endless orange sky. She sat up, looking around and hearing millions of screaming and confused voices. Y/N let out a strangled cry, slamming her fists into the water, tears running down her face.
Back in Wakanda, Steve let out a gasp, stumbling back and falling to his knees. Natasha ran over, out of breath. “Oh god...” Steve choked out.
Steve had to move on, though. He had to help the world pick up the pieces and keep turning. He was working with Okoye and Shuri in the throne room when he heard an oh so familiar voice.
Tony Stark sauntered in, covered in dirt and bandages. Both men froze when they saw each other, Shuri and Okoye sensing the tension and leaving the room.
The billionaire cleared his throat, his eyes dark. “So. Rogers. How’s it been?”
“I don’t know, Stark. You tell me.”
Tony rolled his eyes. “Look, I just need your help with something, okay?” He ran a hand down his face, Steve raising his eyebrows.
“You need help from me? What this time, Tony?”
“I’ve been searching for Y/N for two years and could never find her. She dropped off the grid, I need to know, especially now, where she is and if she survived Thanos’s snap.”
Steve closed his eyes, inhaling sharply. “Y/N has been with me, Nat, and Sam for the past two years.”
Tony rushed forwards, grabbing Steve by the collar of his uniform. “What the hell?! You kidnapped my fucking kid!?”
“She came by choice!” Steve pushed Tony off of him, eyes blazing. “It’s not like you would’ve been there anyways. You were always too busy, Stark. She was your kid, it was you she should’ve shown her accomplishments to, not me. It was you she should’ve laughed with and watch her grow up.”
“Steve.” Tony spat, curling his hands into fists.
“No, no you need to hear this. She was such a bright and funny girl, she always lit up a room. But you’d never know that, you never cared.”
“Steve!” Tony yelled, stopping the super soldier. There was an edge of fear in his voice. “Why are you saying she ‘was’?”
Steve walked up to Tony, his voice barely above a deep murmur. “Because she died in my arms.”
Tony felt like somebody stabbed his heart with several knives all at once. He stumbled back, using one of the thrones to steady himself, tears gathering in his eyes. He looked up at Steve who was equally as broken as him.
“What have I done?”
I’ve been thinking... would you guys be interested in a prequel series to How to Save a Life (htsal)?
It would take place with Iron Man 1, 2, 3, the Avengers, briefly Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, and Spider-Man: Homecoming. It would focus on Tony and Y/N and Y/N building up her close relationships with Steve and Peter. All leading up to How to Save a Life, the Infinity War series!
What do you think?
Two Years
Pairing- Bruce Banner x reader
Word Count- 1,908
Warning- none unless you still count some mentions of parts of Infinity War as spoilers
A/N- just a cute Bruce Banner x reader that I thought of since there is honestly not enough Bruce in the world! I hope you all like it :)
Two years.
It had been two years since Y/N last saw Bruce Banner. It had been during the battle in Sokovia. Bruce had transformed into the Hulk and gone after a Quinjet that held one of Ultron’s copies in it. The Hulk had gotten rid of it, but instead of flying back like Y/N thought he would, the Hulk had turned off the tracker and disappeared.
She hadn’t known what to think when it happened. After all, how was someone supposed to act when their husband left on a Quinjet to who knows where without a single word?
It had taken some time to say the least. The first couple of days consisted of her just feeling numb. There were no tears, but a smile never dawned her face either. She didn’t show any emotions really. She was just numb.
Then the crying started and it was like she had been hit by a whirlwind of emotions. She couldn’t sleep because she was too busy trying to find Bruce and she wouldn’t eat because the thought of eating while he could be starving out there made her feel sick to her stomach.
She couldn’t do anything really because everything felt so meaningless without Bruce by her side.
It took weeks for the rest of the Avengers to get her out of the house. And even when they did, she refused to leave without one of Bruce’s sweaters on saying that it made it feel like he was still there. Eventually, the smell would begin to fade from the sweaters and it would became too painful to wear them, so she wanted to get the most out of them while she could.
The Avengers were there for her. They made sure she ate and that she got enough sleep. They helped with the nightmares and the days when she was emotionally and physically cut off from the world. They were there for everything, not just because she was Bruce’s wife, but because they considered her as family.
They too mourned the loss of their friend and as they watched the broken girl as she went through the motions they couldn’t help but wonder where he could’ve gone and why he would leave someone that obviously cared so much about him behind.
Y/N grew closer to the Avengers than ever before, Tony especially who had made it his sworn duty to keep her safe while Bruce was away.
Tony and Y/N became practically inseparable. He was like her wall. The thing that was helping her stay on her feet. Tony came to see her as a little sister and him a big brother to her.
And Tony couldn’t stand to see the girl that was pretty much family now all sad and alone. So one day, he showed up at her house and helped her move all of the things out.
He then helped her move into the new Avengers facility and gave Y/N a room that was not only big enough for her, but for Bruce whenever he returned.
Soon enough the months began to tick by. Y/N hadn’t healed fully from Bruce’s leave, but Tony and the rest of the Avengers helped her feel a little better and soon she was back to being Y/N, or as close as she could be to being Y/N without Bruce.
But then the Sokovia Accords happened and the Avengers broke up.
It was like Y/N had gone spiraling down again. She not only lost the love of her life, but now she was losing her family as well.
And just like Tony had been there for her with Bruce, she was there for Tony with the Avengers. He wouldn’t admit it, but it hurt him more than he let on.
Although it hurt Y/N too, she knew she needed to be the wall this time. She needed to be the one to keep Tony up on his feet and with some help from Rhodey and Pepper, they were able to do just that.
Two years passed and Y/N finally felt like she was starting to return to normal. Sure she missed Bruce with all of her heart and soul, but she knew she couldn’t mop about it forever. He would always have a home with her if he needed it and she knew that when the time was right he would come back.
But just when things started to look up, Thanos arrived.
Y/N hadn’t understood what was happening at first. She had just been having lunch with Pepper as the woman told her about how Tony had met this strange wizard guy. Y/N could tell Pepper was holding something back as she went on, but she didn’t question it.
However, Pepper had fallen silent as her eyes widened at the sight behind Y/N. Said girl had turned around and that’s when she first saw the giant spaceship in the sky.
It wasn’t even a second later before Tony called Pepper and asked to speak with both her and Y/N. He was only able to get out that he was on the giant donut looking thing in the sky before his call cut out. Pepper had immediately started crying and Y/N consoled her until she too got a call, but this time, it was Rhodey instead of Tony.
That’s how Y/N found herself hurrying back to the Avengers facility. Rhodey had told her that they needed her help with Vision and she hadn’t hesitated before heading their way.
She thought it was just going to be her, Rhodey, and Vision. However, what Y/N wasn’t expecting was to see her old friends Steve Rogers, Natasha Romanoff, and Wanda Maximoff standing beside Rhodey and Vision.
She had paused in her footsteps, a smile breaking out on her face as the three turned to look at her. “Y/N,” Steve greeted, but a smile wasn’t on his face. His eyes only flickered over to something that Y/N couldn’t see, but she didn’t care.
She quickly walked forward to hug the three, her eyes closing in a small sigh of relief to know that they were okay. The three were tense though. Wether it was from the threat on the world or something else, she wasn’t sure.
Y/N pulled away and smiled the best she could at the three. “So I heard someone is trying to take Vision’s stone, am I correct? What was his name? It started with a T,” Y/N muttered as she tried to remember the name.
“Thanos.”
Y/N froze. However it was not because of the name, but because of who had said the name.
Her friends all looked at her with wide apologetic eyes before they flickered over to the person who had spoken.
Y/N didn’t move.
She heard his footsteps as he drew closer, but she shook her head. He stopped right behind her and she could practically feel his eyes staring a hole in the back of her head.
“Y/N.”
He whispered her name out so easily, but she could still feel the hurt and the sadness it held.
“Two years,” she simply said, not turning around to look at him. Her eyes were already glossing over and she knew that if she turned around, she was going to break.
“W-what?”
Y/N couldn’t help herself. She quickly whipped around, her eyes blazing with fury and sadness while tears rolled down her cheeks as she stared at the man she loved.
“Two years, Bruce! I waited for you for two years!” Y/N cried out. Her knees grew weak and she fell to the ground. “Two years!”
Bruce didn’t even hesitate before falling to the ground next to her, his arms immediately wrapping around her and pulling her close as she let out a sob. Her arms grabbed ahold of him and she held him tightly as if he were going to disappear if she didn’t.
“I’m sorry,” Bruce whispered, tears of his own falling down. “I’m so sorry.”
Y/N let out another sob before pulling away slightly to look at him with watery eyes. “Why?” She croaked out. “Why would you leave us? Why would you leave me?”
Bruce paled slightly at the obvious amount of hurt on his girl’s face. His heart ached and his lips quivered as he let out a sob. “I’m so sorry,” Bruce cried, his head dropping low as he dug his face into her neck. “I’m so sorry.”
Y/N just held on to him and rested her head on top of his own. She faintly saw the other Avengers leaving the room, but she didn’t care. All she cared about was Bruce and finally getting to hold him in her arms again.
“I didn’t want to leave you for that long. I was just tired of losing control to the Hulk. I wanted to be able to control him before coming back, but he only got control of me. I was the Hulk for two years, Y/N,” Bruce cried as he squeezed her. “Two years.”
Y/N found herself crying a little harder at that. She knew he hated being the Hulk and knowing that he had to be stuck as something he hated for that long without being able to do a single thing, broke her heart.
The two fell silent, the only sound in the room being their sobs or the occasional “I‘m sorry” from Bruce as they held each other.
“I missed you so much, Bruce,” Y/N finally whispered when the two had somewhat calmed down. Bruce pulled away to look at his wife, his hands finding their way up and cupping her face as he wiped away her tears.
“I missed you too, Darling,” Bruce told her as he leaned forward and pressed a shaky kiss to her forehead.
Y/N grabbed ahold of him and she whimpered as she said, “Please don’t leave me again. I don’t think I could take it.”
“I won’t. I promise,” Bruce told her. Y/N softly cried as she held him. “I’m here,” Bruce whispered, his hand running up and down her back as he held her close to him. “I’m here.”
Y/N pulled away and quickly brought him in for a kiss, both of them relishing in the feeling of the others lips on theirs. “I love you,” Bruce whispered against her lips. “I love you so much.”
“I love you too, Bruce,” Y/N told him and Bruce smiled as he kissed her again. The two were crying again but this time with happy tears. They kissed one more time before he pulled her back into his embrace, breathing in the scent of her perfume and her strawberry shampoo that he had missed so much.
He meant what he said about never leaving her again.
It had been a mistake leaving her behind in the first place and now he had missed out on two years that he could’ve been holding her, kissing her, and loving her.
Y/N didn’t have to wait for him. She could’ve moved on. But here she was, holding him in her arms and kissing him in that way that made his brain go fuzzy and made him feel like he was a teenager again.
He tightened his hold on her and pressed a small kiss to her forehead.
And as he held Y/n, Bruce thought about how much he loved her and he knew that never again would he want to live another day without her right by his side.

'Cause they say home is where your heart is set in stone
Is where you go when you're alone
Is where you go to rest your bones
It's not just where you lay your head
It's not just where you make your bed
As long as we're together, does it matter where we go?

3 years.
It had been 3 years since that day in Siberia.
Y/N had read the letter Tony had received from Steve and had volunteered to keep the flip phone on hand. Her eyes followed a trail to her nightstand where the phone lay with her engagement ring, which hung on a silver chain.
Y/N sighed before pulling herself out of bed, standing and dressing herself in jeans and a white t-shirt, pulling a purple zip-up hoodie on. She placed her gun in her belt holster. Better safe than sorry. She sat on the bed to tie up her combat boots, her eyes falling on the two objects once more.
She stood once more, slipping the phone in her pocket and unclasping the chain of the necklace and securing it around her neck. Y/N didn’t know why she still had the ring, her resentment of Steve had only fueled her initial desire to get rid of it. But for some reason, Y/N couldn’t bring herself to.
She walked out of the room and down the hall to the kitchen in the compound, opening the fridge to grab a drink.
“Y/N L/N.”
Y/N turned quickly, gun poised and aimed at the voice. A man in strange clothing and a red cape stood in front of her, orange sparks swirling behind him.
“Ah, Ms. L/N, you can put the gun down I’m no threat to you.” He tried to assure her, but she didn’t budge an inch.
“I’ve had a lot of people tell me that. Who are you.” Y/N demanded, taking a cautious step forward.
The man let out a huff. “My name is Dr. Stephen Strange. We don’t have time for this.”
Suddenly Tony appeared from out of the sparks. “Woah-Woah! Y/N/N, it’s cool, it’s cool. We need you to come with us.”
“Tony?” Y/N lowered her gun. “Weren’t you out with Pepper?”
“Alright I’m out of patience.” Dr. Strange sighed, grabbing her arm and yanking her into the sparks, causing a yelp to erupt from her throat.
Suddenly she was in a whole different room, at the base of a grand staircase. It looked like she was in an old mansion or something. Y/N pulled out the gun again, aiming at Dr. Strange. “Where the fuck am I?”
“Woah, Y/N?”
Y/N turned the gun dropping from her hands as her eyes widened. “Bruce?!” She ran forwards and hugged him. “Where have you been?!”
“That’s a long story for later.” The scientist, pulled away, scratching the back of his head. “I’m sorry about you and Steve and the team.”
Y/N pursed her lips, figuring Tony probably filled him in. “Thanks.”
Dr. Strange continued to fill her in on the stones and Thanos, Tony cutting in right after the lecture.
“Anyways, straight to the point, Y/N I know you’re gonna hate me.” Tony butted in, seeming nervous.
Y/N furrowed her eyebrows, confused. “What? Why would I-“
“We need you to call Steve Rogers.” Dr. Strange interrupted, causing Y/N to freeze. She felt Bruce’s hand on her shoulder, Y/N could all but feel the Siberian wind whipping against her body.
“Y/N?” Tony questioned, the woman looking up at him at the mention of her name. Y/N nodded, reaching into her pocket and pulling out the flip phone. With a deep inhale she flipped it open, the contact ‘Steve’ on the screen. Her thumb hovered above the call button, Y/N felt like she was drowning.
Suddenly there was a loud noise, and shaking. Everyone looked at each other, Tony looking to Strange. “Are you moving your hair like that?”
“Not at the moment, no.” The wizard murmured, Tony running out the door. Everyone else soon followed, including Strange’s friend. Y/N put the phone back in her pocket, grabbing her gun off the floor and following.
“Holy shit.” Y/N yelled, shielding her eyes with her hand. “That’s a flying donut.”
A weird looking alien walked towards them. “Rejoice! You are about to be killed by the Titan Thanos!”
Tony stepped forwards. “Earth is closed today. So hop back up in your ship and hasta la vista!”
The alien turned to Strange. “Does this chattering animal speak for you, stone keeper?”
“No,” Strange formed two shields in his hands, as did his friend. Y/N cocked her gun and held it up. “I speak for myself. You are trespassing on this planet.”
“That means get lost, Squidward!” Tony shouted, a large alien beast running forwards to attack them. Tony tapped his arc reactor, the suit covering his body before he sent a blast at the beast.
Y/N began shooting at the other alien, who sent the bullets flying back at her. She dodged every one, hiding behind a car. “The weird nose guy can levitate objects! I’m out of the fight, I don’t stand a chance!”
“Go get to safety, Y/N! Call Rogers!” Tony yelled, Y/N bursting out from behind the car, sprinting down an alley. She kept running, sparing looks behind her. Y/N came to a stop at a truck. She hopped in, thrilled to see the keys still in the ignition. She started it up, driving as far as she could out of downtown New York. Y/N stopped at a gas station, tossing her empty gun on the dashboard. She pulled the flip phone out of her back pocket, rubbing her thumb across it.
With a deep breath in she pressed the call button. He answered after three rings.
“Hello? Tony? I’m watching the news right now, what’s going on?”
Y/N’s breath caught in her throat. “Hey Steve.”
There was a long pause on the other end. “Y/N...”
Y/N shook her head. He left her. She couldn’t fall apart, it wasn’t worth it. “I just got away from the fight. We need you. Vision turned off his transponder about two weeks ago. You’re the only one who could track him and Wanda down.”
“Y/N, we need to talk, I-“
“Steven, Jesus Christ! People are going to die, some already have! You need to track down Vision and Wanda right now and meet us at the compound. There’s some serious shit about to go down. Apocalypse shit.” Y/N yelled, slamming her palm on the wheel.
The line was quiet for a few moments. “We’re on it. We’ll send you an alert when we find them.” Steve audibly sighed. “I’ll see you soon.”
The line went dead. Y/N rested her head back, closing her eyes. She stayed that way momentarily before pulling up the news. Her eyes widened as she read the headlines and quickly pulled the gear into drive. “Fuck.” She whispered underneath her breath, speeding out of the gas station and towards the compound.
Y/N spent the afternoon in the compound declining press calls and heightening security. She tried to send out a call, anything, but nothing went through to Tony. Rhodey had arrived hours later, and was in the middle of a conference call. Y/N was about to fall asleep at her desk until she heard Steve’s voice. His voice. Y/N stood up slowly, hearing him speak to Rhodey. Y/N approached the room, her heart hammering in her chest.
She rounded the corner, staring into the room. There he was. He stood with Natasha, Sam, Wanda, and Vision. Rhodey had his back to Y/N. Natasha noticed her first. “Y/N!” Steve’s head jolted upwards, his blue eyes making contact with Y/N’s Y/E/C.
Y/N’s lips formed into a tight smile, she rushed forwards past Steve and wrapped her arms around Natasha. She pulled back a bit, holding Nat’s shoulders. “You dyed your hair! It looks nice!”
“Thanks. You clean up nicely too.” Natasha smiled, Y/N turning to Sam. “Hey Sam.”
Sam smiled clapping Y/N’s shoulder. “Hey L/N. It’s been a while.”
“Y/N.”
She turned and gave Steve a strained smile. “Hey Steve. Nice beard.”
He seemed to look at her pleadingly. “Y/N, I-“
“Thanks for taking my call by the way. We’re really glad we have your help.” Y/N cut in, nodding before walking out of the room, the tension in the air suffocating. Steve turned to Nat who gave him a nod before he ran out of the room, turning to see Y/N walk down the hallway. “Y/N!” She didn’t turn around, she started to walk even faster. Steve ran towards her, grabbing her wrist. “Y/N, wait-“
“I’M DONE WAITING, STEVEN!” Y/N screamed, pulling her arm out of his grasp. The super soldier froze when he saw the tears pouring out of Y/N’s eyes. “I stopped waiting years ago. Part of me thought, if he loved he he’d come back. And you made it quite clear how you felt.” Y/N walked towards him, nose to nose. “What happened to home, Steven? What happened to that promise? Home is where your heart is set in stone. It’s where you go when you’re alone, it’s where you go to rest your soul. It’s not just where you lay your head it’s not just where you make your bed. You promised me when you asked me to marry you that as long as we we’re together it doesn’t matter where we go, we’re home.” Y/N let out a chuckle. “You kicked me out of our home when you left me in Siberia.”
Steve lowered his head, his voice barely a whisper. “I’m sorry.”
Y/N shook her head solemnly. “You know I can’t accept that apology. If I could, I would in a heartbeat.” Y/N reached under her shirt, pulling the chain out. With a firm yank the chain snapped, and Y/N held out the ring and broken chain in her palm. “Y’know, I really wanted to get rid of this. I wanted to throw it out, destroy it. But I just... couldn’t. I know why now.” Y/N held out her palm to Steve, smiling at him softly. “I was saving it for you. Because someday you’re going to find that girl who is your home. The girl you can keep that promise to.”
Steve shook his head, Y/N reaching forwards and grabbing his hand. Both looked into each other’s tear-filled eyes. Y/N dropped the chain and necklace into his palm, closing his hand around it. Y/N choked on her tears. “And God, Steve Rogers. I loved you with all my heart. Thank you for that. But this was over a long time ago.”
Steve brushed his thumb across her cheek. “I love you so much.” He leaned down and kissed her forehead, closing his eyes. Y/N wrapped her arms around him, giving him a final squeeze before pulling away with a sad smile and walking away.
In less than 24 hours they had touched down in Wakanda. Y/N exited the quinjet, falling in step with Natasha. After Steve greeted T’Challa, Y/N stepped forwards, hugging the king.
“Long time no see, old friend.” T’Challa teased, Y/N smiling back.
“Yeah, well. It’s the apocalypse. What the hell?” She smirked, Okoye throwing her a grin.
Y/N would stop by Wakanda frequently as an ambassador once they had opened themselves up to the world. She could practically feel Steve’s eyes on her as she spoke with T’Challa.
Soon but suddenly an attack on Wakanda came from Thanos’s army causing everyone to gear up. T’Challa fit everyone with weapons, offering Y/N a sniper rifle. She wasn’t good at combat, so Y/N opted to stay in the lab to help Wanda protect Vision as Shuri removed the stone.
As the battle drew on, they were obviously becoming outnumbered and overwhelmed. Wanda was all but raring to go and help her friends. But her priority was Vision, but...? Y/N understood the feeling all too well.
“Wanda.” Y/N put her hand on the ginger’s shoulder. “Go help them. I swear on my life I will protect Vision. They need you.”
Wanda nodded and ran out of the lab to go help assist on the battlefield.
Suddenly another weird alien guy burst into the lab, stabbing the guards. Y/N stood in front of Shuri, firing vibranium bullets in his direction, but he simply deflected them with his spear. He used the butt of it to slam Y/N into the ground, blowing Shuri away and jumping out the window with Vision. Y/N burst to her feet, running to the edge of the window. “NO!”
“Guys! We have a Vision problem!” Sam yelled into his comm.
“Shit-I’m in pursuit!” Y/N yelled, using a grappling hook to launch herself into the trees, following the sound of Vision’s screams.
Y/N flung herself over, kicking the alien off of Vision. He skidded away, using his spear to break the fall. Y/N got got on one knee, looking through the scope of her rifle, beginning to shoot at the alien. He deflected each one except for one that grazed his arm.
He ran forwards, knocking the rifle out of Y/N’s hands and thrusting the spear towards her. She dodged, pulling out a knife and attempted to bend and thrust it into his ribcage, but to no avail. He knocked her back, sending a killing thrust her way. Y/N grabbed the spear with both hands, holding it in a death grip. Harder than how she grabbed the wrists of her fiancé as he beat the shit out of his best friend. Y/N’s arms shook, her eyes blazing as she stared into the eyes of the alien with an intensity, trying to keep the blade away from her sternum. Suddenly there was a gold blast, sending him flying away. Y/N turned to see Vision leaning on a tree, the stone in his head glowing.
Y/N smiled at him. “Tha-.” Suddenly pain interrupted her. Her entire body felt as if it were on fire. Y/N looked up in shock. Vision was screaming out, but Y/N’s ears were ringing. What was he saying?
Where was the pain coming from? Y/N looked down to see the ugly alien spear blade protruding from her upper right chest, just above her breast. She could see her skin all ripped up underneath her suit, even the white of bone. If she weren’t in shock, Y/N might’be thrown up right then and there. The blade was coated with sticky red blood, her blood.
The blade was yanked out with huge jerk, causing Y/N to cry out and fall to her knees, then collapsing into the forest floor. Through blurry eyes she could see the alien and Vision go tumbling through the trees.
Y/N didn’t know how long she laid on the ground. Hours? She had her hand pressed against the wound in a feeble attempt to staunch the bleeding. Y/N had picked out a few bloody shards of bone, which were laying near by, but strangely she didn’t feel any pain. But she found herself getting colder. That’s weird. She’s in an African jungle, it’s not cold. But Y/N found herself shivering.
Suddenly there was a bright light and everything was quiet. Y/N coughed, something think and liquidly spraying her face and rolling down her chin. Her mouth tasted like old pennies. She could hear yelling nearby. ‘Y/N?’ Was someone yelling her name? No, just her imagination, right?
Y/N’s eyes felt heavy feeling an overwhelming pressure in her head. She was tired, maybe she needed to take a quick nap. Yeah, just 5 minutes...
Y/N closed her eyes for the last time, her breathing becoming shallower and shallower until it stopped completely.
The yelling got closer, and Steve burst through the trees, yelling Y/N’s name. His foot accidentally kicked the broken sniper rifle, causing Steve to trail his eyes over to see his worst nightmare.
Y/N laid about 10 feet away from him. Her chest and hands were coated in thick red blood. Her mouth was messily painted red, and there was a large rip in her upper right chest. Steve let out a shaky breath running over to her and falling to his knees, shakily placing two of fingers on her neck. He let out a broken sob when he didn’t feel her strong heartbeat, her heart that beat for so many people.
Steve let out a broken scream, gathering Y/N up in his arms and holding her close, burying his face in her hair. He kept expecting her to open those Y/E/C eyes and smile up at him. But she seemed... peaceful.
He cursed the world. Cursed Thanos for everything he’d done, cursed whoever murdered Y/N, cursed himself for not making it in time.
Natasha broke through the tree line, her falling on Steve’s hunched over figure grasping a limp body. “Steve... tell me that isn’t...”
Steve responded with a broken sob, Natasha’s hand flying up to her mouth as a tear rolled down her cheek. She fell to the ground, exhaustion getting the best of her. Her best friend was gone.
Steve finally looked at her pale face. Her eyes were closed, her lips slightly blue. He shakily pulled the engagement ring out of him pocket, sliding it onto Y/N’s cold finger. He kissed her head, his lips trembling.
“You were my home, Y/N...”

Total War
Peter Parker x Reader
Giveaway fic for the winner: @marvelandsuchstuff!!!!!
Summary: Y/N can always count on her boyfriend Peter to cheer her up on a bad day with the best cuddles in the universe. But when the Avengers find out and tease them? This. Is. War.
Warnings: Language, a lil angst, lots of fluff, very minor sexual innuendo, also in this Civil War didn’t happen lol
The day had gone to shit.
First, Y/N failed her mission. Then she had to listen to one of Tony’s long-ass lectures about her safety and all she did wrong.
She stumbled into the living area, falling face first into the couch cushions. Because Y/N was a HYDRA assassin rescued from the evil clutches of the organization and had skills to rival Natasha Romanoff’s they somehow expected her to be perfect.
What a load of shit.
Y/N let out a deep and tired groan into the cushions before feeling someone tap on the back of her head.
“Hello? Earth to Y/N?” Peter mused, Y/N turning her head to her boyfriend.
“Hey.” She whined, sitting up and pressing a quick kiss to his lips.
Peter smiled softly at her. “Mr. Stark told me about the mission.”
Y/N inwardly groaned, her head collapsing into her hands. “Jesus fucking-It was one failed mission and no one was hurt I just didn’t get the intel!”
“Woah, bad day?” Peter sat next to her, eliciting a whine from his girlfriend. “You know what that means.”
Y/N barely had time to register what was happening until Peter had grabbed her and laid on the couch, his arms wrapped around her and his chin resting on her head.
Y/N sighed, snuggled deeper into his embrace. “God Pete, you always have the best cuddles.”
“Is your day feeling better?” Peter smiled, kissing her head.
Y/N hummed in response, letting her eyes close. “Peeeete, what if someone comes in and sees us?”
“They’re all out for lunch we’re fine.”
————
They were not fine.
Tony nearly dropped his sandwich on the floor when he watched the security tapes. “Holy shit.”
“Language.” Steve murmured, walking over before his jaw dropped. The others soon gathered, confused and surprised.
Peter and Y/N were laying on one of the couches in living area A3, cuddling and smiling. Every once and a while Peter would plant a kiss on Y/N’s head.
“HA! Busted!” Clint shrieked, paying the tab.
Tony turned to Steve with a nod before they all exited the restaurant.
————
Tony burst into the room, making the couple jolt. “YOU TWO ARE HAVING SEX, AREN’T YOU?”
Peter’s face turned bright red, and Y/N seemed to pout. “We are? Peter, you should have told me I would have turned the lights down.”
“I think what Mr. Genius means to say is you’re dating.” Natasha pushed Tony aside, crossing her arms.
“Uh-uh, yes m-ma’am.” Peter stuttered, still flushed red.
They both had sat up, Y/N wrapping her arm around Peter. “Yup. The boy’s still a virgin.”
“And you are?” Natasha raised an eyebrow. Y/N bit the inside of her cheek, looking up at the ceiling causing Peter’s face to go suddenly pale and Steve to walk forwards.
“Alright, Alright. Enough. Why didn’t you tell us?” Steve asked.
Y/N shrugged. “Because Tony would’ve said no.”
“Damn right I would’ve.”
“Not now Tony!” Clint swatted the billionaire’s arm. “Petey’s got himself a giiirrll-friiiieeeendd!”
Bruce chuckled. “Ah, young love...”
“You all are assholes.” Y/N hissed, the group laughing and grinning.
“You two are most adorable! You’re embarrassment is well entertaining!” Thor boomed, causing the team to laugh.
Y/N stood up, walking out of the room with stormclouds in her eyes. Peter quickly stood and followed. “Y/N! Wa-Wait!”
Peter found Y/N in her room typing away at her laptop. “Uhhh what are you doing?”
“I’ve hacked into the Avengers’ phones and security cameras.” Y/N looked at Peter with dark eyes. “They’ve got a storm coming.”
Peter broke out in a nervous sweat. “Er-um, what does that mean?”
“It means war, Peter. Total war.”
Peter looked at the laptop screen. “Holy shit, Y/N/N. You’re a genius.”
“I’m unappreciated in my time.” Y/N sighed, clicking a button. “All of the team’s private relationships have been leaked to the internet. Except for Clint’s family, but I’m not a monster.” She scrolled through the lists. “Steve’s texts with Sharon. Camera footage with Jane bitch slapping Thor. A list of every single one of Tony’s flings 1990-2005. Rumors about Natasha, oh the tabloids are going to shit themselves.”
Peter scratched the back of his head. “I dunno Y/N I feel like I’m betraying them.”
“Well too late.” Y/N sighed, closing her laptop. “Now where were we with those cuddles?” She asked with an innocent grin.
Peter sighed. “God, I love you.”
They both were curled up together in pure bliss as all the Avengers collectively seemed to cry out in agony, learning never to mess with Y/N again.
