Me: I don’t think Loki really thought he was going to kill Thanos in IW. I think it was a hail mary preceding a deliberate sacrifice. Thanos kills half of everything. He’s already killed half of Asgard, and he’s standing in front of the two members of the Asgardian royal family. A neat set that can be split in half with a single action. It’s one of the fundamental principles of Thanos’ philosophy that it doesn’t matter who dies, it’s random. He’s going to kill whoever is a convenient target, and Thor is literally right in front of him. If Loki had stayed out of Thanos line of sight, if he hadn’t approached him, if he hadn’t directly confronted him, Thanos would not have sought him out. Loki put himself in front of Thanos. He made himself a more enticing target than his brother. He pulled that knife because it was guaranteed to draw Thanos' metaphorical executioner's axe. He walked up to one of the most powerful beings in the universe with nothing more than a dagger in hand because it was the only thing he could do to stack the odds in his brother’s favor. Loki isn't an idiot. He didn’t really think he’d win. He knew he probably couldn't kill Thanos with a dagger. He also knew that if he tried something else, he would still probably fail, and the ensuing fight would leave both him and Thor dead. He knew they were outnumbered, he knew they were beat, and he knew Thanos had so much worse in mind for the future. Loki knew only one Asgardian was going to make it off this ship alive and he made sure it was Thor. Where are you going, come back, no, I am NOT done.

DON’T GO | AVENGERS [PT 1]

AN: i got this idea after watching an interview that lizzie did where she mentioned that her character wanda and vision have kids. i’m turning this into a series that will follow the movie! [i saw IW when it first came out do the details are a little fuzzy, i apologize in advance]

WARNINGS?: infinity war au, mom!wanda, dad!vision, mutant!twin reader, mutant!twin brother, first person POV

Y/N walked in the starry night with her parents and twin brother, Thomas. Their mother, Wanda had decided that they were going to take a train out of Scotland and to New York where they could find a cure for their powers.

The twins powers were out of control. They would come and go, and when they would make an appearance, Thomas’ speed would cause him to crash into walls, and make Y/N control objects and read minds when she didn't want to.

Their mother reached into her pocket, taking two ten pound notes, handing them to Y/N and Thomas, “Go into the shop. I’m going to talk to your father, then we’ll continue to the station.”

Your eyes followed Thomas’s every move, as he looked at the various flavors, “Which flavor are you getting Y/N/N?”

“I’ll get the blueberry scone. Get mum and dad the raspberry ones.” You said handing Thomas your change. You wandered off and took a seat in one of the booths that faced the TV in the shop. 

“New York City facing endless attacks from things out unknown to us. We’ll have more following this short commercial break.” 

You couldn’t believe what your was hearing was New York really under attack? Were you about to go into an unknown battle without your powers? 

Thomas approached the booth with three white paper bags, “Ready?” He smiled. You looked up at him, “New York is under attack.” You breathed out pointing over to the TV. “Yeah right. There’s no way it’s under att-” Thomas was cut off abruptly by the noise of shattered glass. Thomas covered you from any shards that could have gone flying in your direction, “Are you okay?” He asked inspecting your face. You nodded and glanced over to see what had crashed into the store, “Mom?” You whispered, “Tommy, it’s Mom.”

Thomas rushed over to aid your Mom, “Mom. Mom!” You stood there in shock, trying to process everything. You rushed out of the store in search of your dad who was laying on the ground with two aliens? hovering over him. “Y/N/N get inside!” Thomas shouted which caught the attention of the aliens. You stared at them wide-eyed; one of them charged in your direction and you were frozen unknown of where to go. 

Two red orbs flew past you and hit the one running in your direction and the one hovering over your dad. You rushed over to your dad and helped him get back on his feet, “Where’s your mother and brother?” He asked, “In the shop.” You said looking over at the stab wound that sat on his lower waist, “Dad you’re injur-” He cut you off as he reunited with your Mom and Thomas, “That’s besides the point. You’re going to go home and turn on our locators.” He said, “Cap should be able to find you and take you to New York.” 

You looked over to Thomas, “What about you guys? We’re not leaving without you.” Thomas said, “You’re going to do what you’re told. We’re going to be fine.” Your mom reassured. “And promise me you won’t leave each other behind.” She said looking over to you both, “Now go home. We’ll hold them off for as long as we can.”
