Crypticz pumping it with this slamming tune called ‘Magnets’!
INFLECT004 @coleco 1. Lucidity 2. Awareness Now Release on Bandcamp on 16/2/14 Release on stores (Juno, Beatoport, iTunes, Digital Tunes etc) 16/3/14 Established in 2012, Inflect was birthed as a club night in Bristol UK, representing the ever diversifying rhythms and sounds of up-tempo, underground electronic music. Since then it's continued in form, grown an online magazine, mix series, and label; Inflect Audio, which now brings two fresh tracks from Coleco, "Lucidity" and "Awareness Now". Beginning on an etheric flute line laced with organic crackle, "Lucidity" quickly launches full pelt into a snappy, swaggering half step rhythm, peppered by tight, cracking snare rolls, slicing string stabs and rasping horns, all underlayed by a brutal, buzzing synth line. It's dark and uncompromising companion, "Awareness Now" is a monster morphing of horn stabs through pure electronic aggression, into rave like stabs and out the other end into meditative reverberant and spacious bleeps, all to thundering, driving steppy kicks and snares. Having previously garnered support from forward thinking artists and DJ'S such as Rockwell, dBridge, Om Unit, Thelem, Ant TC1 and more, with past releases on Inflect Audio, Med School, Runtime Records and more to come from DnB labels at the forefront of the scene, Coleco continues to operate with unique rhythms at the heavier end of the uptempo spectrum. "Lucidity" and "Awareness Now" are no exception, drawing influences from DnB, Trap, Dubstep, Footwork, world music and beyond, both offer unique combinations of weighty half step, uptempo rhythms, brutal electrifying synthesis, and cinematic orchestral elements, primed for the dancefloor and making for captivating home listening. Coleco - Spatial EP (INFLECT001) Label: Inflect Audio Released: 21/4/14 (digital) With two years behind their belts pushing the new wave of uptempo music influenced by footwork, drum n bass, hip hop and beyond, with a string of nights in Bristol and a blog featuring guest mixes from some of the finest in the scene amongst more, Inflect launches their label imprint Inflect Audio with the "Spatial" EP from co-founder Coleco. Seeing early support from Rockwell, dBridge and Sam Binga, the "Spatial" EP meshes the minimal autonomic drum and bass sound with militant US Trap stylings. Coleco delves deep, combining ripping, heavily modulated techstep-esq reese basslines and heaving 808 drum hits with dry, clipped, punchy drum work. Framing his diverse influences within a pacey half step template, Coleco’s music exhudes soundsystem culture without having to lean on the played out genre based signifiers that are so prevalent in today’s underground music climate, paving the way for the rhythmically diverse, dancefloor style that Inflect Audio intends to make its own. https://soundcloud.com/coleco http://www.inflect-uk.com
