Thank you for the questions! ❤️
(3) What’s a fic idea that you have but haven’t written yet? I usually say the addiction fic because that's the one I really want to write and also the one I feel like I don't have the skill to write. This is the one where Mac spirals after Jack "dies" and becomes addicted to painkillers after an injury.
The other one that I really want to write is the werewolf AU where Jack is a werewolf hunter and Mac is a werewolf that teaches Jack that not all werewolves are bad. I'm a little stuck on the mechanics of their first meeting because my initial idea doesn't actually work, but once I get that sorted out, I think I can get that story written.
(13) Have you ever received hate on a fic? Not really, but I have upset readers. I wrote an unpopular story in White Collar fandom that I intended to be an exploration of Diana's sexuality, but I handled it poorly (ie only wrote part of what was in my brain), and it didn't go over well. I learned a lot from that experience.
(17) Are there any writers and/of stories that you consider an influence? I think every writer is an influence, and every story has the potential to teach me something about my own writing. Some writers are great at characterization, some are fantastic with plot, some have really good dialogue, some kill at description. It would be silly, as a writer, to read those things and not try to take something that I liked back to my own writing.
I've also had the great fortune to make friends (some life-long!) with other writers, artists, and readers in several of my fandoms, and I've learned a lot by discussing process and procedure with them. How they approach their ideas and plot their plots and get inspiration from each other is always fascinating. I'm very grateful to everyone I've met along the way.
