Hello and welcome to Countryhumansreimagined!

Hello hello hello and welcome to my blog. Despite its kind of pompous name, this project is just meant to be a general blog for my own version of Countryhumans - its intention is not to throw shade on the original, even if the idea was partially born from how frustrated I was with the way the general fandom portrayed some areas and countries. The main point of this is to combine many of my personal passions into one :)

I know Countryhumans itself doesn’t have the most credible reputation, which I think is fair. I would still like you to refrain from possible negative prejudices and focus on what is shown on this blog specifically. I don’t focus on other interpretations besides my own, and would appreciate it if this was treated as such.

I have always been incredibly passionate about subjects such as geography, history and cultural anthropology - the main idea of this project is to emphasize on what makes countries *themselves* and to try to look at them from an objective standpoint. If you feel that your country is being misrepresented in some way or another however, please do not hesitate to inform me. This is meant to be for fun.

I myself am Finnish, so I tend to draw Finland and the other nordics more than other countries in the world. I do intend on making designs for all recognized independent countries however - it just might take a while as I need to do more research with some. Please don’t be alarmed if your country doesn’t have a design yet, as this is a side project of mine and I work on it whenever I have the time.

General content warnings:

Mentions of real-life events and tragedies, both historical and more recent. History is a big part of this project, naturally.

Mentions of war.

Mentions of colonization - unfortunately this is what makes a lot of countries the way they are today, and it can’t really be avoided because of how important it is in terms of world history. I am as white as toilet paper however, so I will try my best to be careful with this subject. Feel free to tell me if you think I am doing something wrong.

Some things might be satirized or turned into comedy, though usually they will be events that a) aren’t that harmful or b) happened a long time ago.

General notes:

I will not portray or mention events where people are actively being killed or harmed. These include matters such as the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the Gaza genocide. I just feel like my twinkified portrayals that are first and foremost meant to be for fun wouldn’t really land well in these matters - it just has a general insensitivity to it.

There are some countries and historical regimes that I will not draw designs for, at least for now. This is out of my own desire for comfort. These characters do canonically exist as they have in world history, but I will not draw them. Some countries like this are the Third Reich, Imperial Japan and Israel. There might be some more but these are the first ones that came to mind for me.

Overall, this project is one that I make for myself first and foremost - it is just a way for me to handle history easier through personifications. I look for opinions and thoughts in matters I don’t know much about myself and where research doesn’t feel like enough, but I will mostly just mind my own business and don’t really attempt to look into other people’s ideas directly.

I work on this whenever I have extra time. There should be a country physiology infopost coming up sometime soon, which should explain some stuff that’s very relevant if you want to understand how my headcanons work. In the meantime, please take care :) I will start posting designs and art here at some point, hopefully.

Yes he is! He came to us as Jackson, but he never responded to it. Like Bucky, he had a misunderstood past and I decided to name him Bucky. First time I said it - he responded! 

Posting on here, I decided that in order to differentiate him from Bucky, I’d tag his posts as “Bucky Barks” and it stuck. I call him Bucky Barks and Bucky Boots about equally. Bucky Boots started not long after we first got him - his little toenails were so worn down that when we went for a walk, one nail on both front feet bled, so we started putting boots on him and have to keep an eye on those two toes even when his nails are longer because he drags his little front toes when he walks fast (which he loves to do).

when i make a post that has a ton of informative links, it’s a sign that i’m a nerd passionate about a topic and have already done a lot of this browsing/research ahead of time. and the fact that i went back to track down each of these damned links means i love you and want to share my love of this thing with you folks.

and that my brain won’t let it go until i actually do track down everything and share it.
