Canadaās cyber spies shared identifying information about Canadians with international partners, according to the office that reviews intell
One of Canada's intelligence agencies says it "improperly" shared information about Canadians that it had obtained "incidentally" with international partners. The Communications Security Establishment (CSE) shared some details about the incident after the intelligence commissioner ā the quasi-judicial position that reviews the cyber spy agency's activities ā flagged the case in his annual report tabled in Parliament earlier this week. CSE spokesperson Janny Bender Asselin told CBC News that last year the agency had to notify the defence minister "of an incident where CSE improperly shared information."

Not about autism but I find it amusing that social communication disorder used to be called semantic-pragmatic disorder
I honestly had to look this up because I am Not Smart and had no idea what this is š
For others who donāt know: āSocial Pragmatic Communication Disorder (SPCD) refers to marked challenges with both nonverbal and verbal communication skills used in social settings. Social-communication difficulties may be associated with other communication disorders, however, as of 2013, SPCD is now considered its own category.ā ā meaning itās not the same as other neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD, ASD, etc).
"Semantic pragmatic disorder (SPD) also known as pragmatic language impairment (PLI) and semantic-pragmatic language disorder (SPLD) is a developmental disorder that involves impairment in a personās ability to use language effectively during social interactions" (Link)
SPCD symptoms:
- difficulties with adapting communication skills to different social contexts, such as greetings and initiating conversation - inability to switch between formal and informal language - problems with taking turns during conversations - difficulties with using nonverbal cues such as eye contact and hand gestures - difficulty understanding nonliteral languages, such as inferences, sarcasm, metaphors, and idioms - struggling to make/keep friends
According to this website, having these symptoms doesnāt mean you have SPCD. To be diagnosed these symptoms āmust significantly interfere with:ā
- interpersonal relationships - your ability to socialize - work/school
"As of the DSM-5, SPCD is considered a separate condition from ASD [and ADHD]. Some of the symptoms of SPCD may seem to overlap with those associated with ASD, including what is formerly known as Aspergerās. One 2017 study also concluded that SPCD may not seem completely different from ASD, but may include common traits... While ADHD may lead to some communication difficulties, the causes and impacts arenāt the same as SPCD."
Communication difficulties that may be noted in ASD include:
- seeming ālack of attentionā in social interactions - difficulty engaging with back and forth conversations - talking with others without giving them a chance to respond
Communication difficulties that may be seen in ADHD include:
- excessive talking - inability to concentrate on someone talking with you - interfering with othersā conversations - interrupting others who may be talking with you - having trouble waiting for your turn to talk
(Now imagine having both ASD and ADHD like I do, lmao)
Also, I had to look up what Pragmatic meant š "dealing with things sensibly and realistically in a way that is based on practical rather than theoretical considerations."
SO! Now we all know a little more! <3
