ingsoc as well ♡♡ ugh they're so evil hah
i made a relationship chart with ingsoc, egoist, collectivism, and (soc.) darwinism awhile back in my post about my newer ingsoc design
i was rambling about my hivemind collectivism to oomf and i had some concepts regarding their relationship since they are so very similar .. i feel like they're concrete enough to share now
i feel like at some point HMC and ingsoc knew each other before my series began, but eventually parted due to creative differences. i had an idea where HMC was once alone and doing solo biomed projects until ingsoc stumbled across his work and was extremely fascinated with it. at this point in his life, HMC was very skittish and nervous so having someone more confident and powerful than him like ingsoc tell him that he admired his work really excited him.
ingsoc requests for HMC to join him in his ventures as something of a mentor/assistant relationship, and HMC obliges happily. i've previously discussed this on my ingsoc post, but in my universe/au/oc story (??) i like to imagine him being part wraith. he moves HMC's whole studio into his own facility and they live together for a bit while ingsoc gets HMC increasingly higher and higher off of his ghastly smoke, hoping he'll become too subdued at some point and become a thoughtless assistant for him
but whoops it works too well on HMC and all of ingsoc's words of "we'll be the only ones who understand each other" begin to sound more and more like "let's become one" so ingsoc and HMC get into a verbal/physical conflict and they separate. HMC spends his spare time looking for "parts" and ingsoc returns to normalcy since HMC was kind of a secret to begin with
