Orsimer is sketched and ready to go for next weeks painting sessions.

It was a weird challenge to try and figure out his mouth pouches? That sounds gross, but the bit under his bottom lip where the tusks push the flesh forward.

Hopefully it’ll make sense when it’s given form.

This is my first sketch for the cars painting series. I NEEED a painting of Finn in the rain. I really want to push the reflective surfaces in this one and get a really dramatic nighttime lighting.

My challenge will be synthesising my references to get the end result I want. I don’t have a solid reference photo. Just my little die casts, some photos of various cars in the rain, and VIBES

I’m going to do a small 5x7ish mock-up painting to text out my ideas, but I want the final one to be 28x36 inches.

I obviously got inspired from the DOS poster. I’m planning to add the line art with a pen and color it with using color pencils (or maybe crayons)

Fun fact, I seldom know anything about DOS. It’s been a while since I watched the first season.

I’ll never forget when I first realized how even the initial sketch is a process.  Kind of like writing, the initial draft is a process.

I’ve decided to try and work out a sketch for each chapter of YITM from here on out, just to keep practice up.  So, this one will be for chapter 59!
